For those of you that saw the one at the St. Louis Transportation Museum at MV6, Leno got one of the remaining Turbine cars from the Chrysler Museum. Here's a photo from his garage.

I have seen the feature on it, pretty neat for the time just very unpractical. Jay needs to give me a few of his cars:banana:

There is still one at the Henry Ford.

They were pretty good cars, but emissions standards killed em dead.

We got to see one up front, personal, and operating in St. Louis last year. Pops even got a ride in it.

I saw one driving on the road in the late 60's, w/ a mfgrs. plate on it, driving through Avon N.Y.

I saw that car in St. Louis....it was neat looking and very clean....as one should be if it were in a museum....Glad I got to see that piece of history.

I remember seeing one at the '64/'65 NY World's Fair.

They were handing out scale models - I wish I still had that!

That is awesome! I want to ride in Jay's SHOGun :D I can dream right? Do you know what Pop's thought of it? Was it loud?

I won't put words in Pops mouth, but as I remember, it sounded like a loud vacuum cleaner.

I was there with Pops and got to watch him get in and take his ride around the main parking lot...I'm not sure which one of us was grinning more...it was a rare privilege for ANYONE to get a ride in that car. Now I can say "I know a guy..." ;)

I wouldn't say it sounds like a loud vacuum cleaner...I've heard many vacuums that were way louder than this car, although it is very distinctive...similar to that of a small jet airplane idling. Smelled like one, too... :D
