Hey guys what would I need to do to get my 03 as fast as an 04 cvpi. Im aware that my car has 239hp against the 04s 250hp. I removed 2 rear cats and installed better flowing mufflers so maybe a gained a 1 or 2 horses but what else could I do to get 250hp. Even if my car does get 250hp would it still be as fast as a 04. Thanks in advance

You won't gain much power only by swapping mufflers in your case, because the mufflers are not a constriction point in CVs. But it may sound better (or at least louder).

You'll be better served changing out your airbox and combining with a custom tune. Lonnie at Blue Oval Chips is a popular provider of tuning solutions (SCT Xcal 2 and 3) for vics. Check him out.

Why do you think your car is NOT "as fast" as an '04? Have you run against one on a track? Just because it's one year newer doesn't automatically mean it's faster. In fact, it's well known that '03 Marauders are WAY faster than the '04s... :P

because it isnt

2004 CVPI's got a new 80MM MAF and marauder STYLE airbox (it isnt the same, I tried putting my airbox lid on a 07 airbox and it was not even close)

2003 CVPI's still had the same 70mm maf and crappy airbox that is still used in civilian panthers today.

plus, 2003 CVPI = 239hp, 2004CVPI = 250hp... Cmon

When I ran at Marauderville IV, I took 2nd fastest N/A class ET with with my 03 MM, and guess who got first place...John Nero (Not running NOS), and he's in an 03 MM. Both cars on stock motors, and there was alot of Marauders behind us. Those were the days:D.

I guess 03 MMs are faster due to less weight from flaky paint? :dunno: :D
