2,4shofast
09-11-2009, 06:50 PM
At one time I just used SHOfast as I have owned way too many Taurus SHO's. But it seems that it was taken on quite a few boards and since me and my wife both drove SHO's I made it 2,4shofast.

09-11-2009, 06:54 PM
I'm not that good at making screen names but I want somehting completley unrealated to me, so I basically just find stuff from either reading or conversations, little snippets. Like a friend loses something and says "well 4 of them are gone" and then I use that "4rgone". I know it's not Marauder related, which is to bad because in retrospect I could have come up with something cool, instead of weird. You all have cool names though.

Guinness is not a citable source........

In the Corps I was a Crewchief (mechanic + machine gunner) on the CH-46E helicopter. The official nickname name of the helo is the Sea Knight but we call them phrogs. This is because they can float so they are considered amphibious and from a top view the fuel tanks on the side remotely resemble how a frog's legs stick out to the side.

15 years ago I used to dabble in bodybuilding. I read this article in Flex magazine about this pro bodybuilder that was so huge that they said he had attained "freak status". I got a kick out of that and used it for my first hotmail e-mail account. Don't have that e-mail account anymore but I did ressurrect the catch phrase when I signed up for this site.

First Initial Last Name.

Motorhead350
09-11-2009, 11:52 PM
Now that's a world record I can support!

I got mine for a few reasons.

1. I started listening to Motorhead when I joined at 17.
2. I liked the insult Jake says to Elwood... "You Motorhead!"
3. 350 came to me since I was trying to decide what engine to put in my K5. I went with a 350 and thus the name Motorhead350

I guess it was all from a time in my life in fall 2002, but I didn't sign up until 2003.

I didn't want to hide behind some alias, so i just use my name. On some of the other sites I frequent I go by Flyin' A II. Back in the day, Henry's Tydol sponsored the stock car my father won a season track championship with. Its number was the Flying A logo. Since my Marauder is the 300A order, it kind of fit. Still trying for that championship deal though. Not an easy task at any level of racing.

Nick the D--k was the name of the smuggler in the beginning of Men in Black. The officer says his name.

As for mine, a friend had "IAMAPITA" for personalized tags in L.I. NY. And I thought, if he is just that, then I am "royalty".

Anyone wanna guess?

No, to all you net noobs, (and by that I mean anyone who has been on the internet less than 20 years) it has nothing to do with internet trolling. I have been called the troll since long before that term was invented.

In high school and college, I lived "under the basement stairs" (that's just where the computer/games were) and was very grumpy with people who came home at 4AM and made noise directly over my head. So I was labeled the troll.

The "duh" part should be obvious, since I am constantly reminding people of when (and how) they are being stupid.

Incidentally, all those who instantly assume what my name means and therefore insist on discounting what I say just for that reason fall into the 'stupid' category.

Have a bright and cheery day!

DEFYANT
09-12-2009, 12:01 PM
"Defyant" is the Marauders nickname. And since this is a Marauder board, I used that as a screen name.

It started out as the name for my ole 98 Cobra. I transferred it to the MM. Though it didn't quite fit right at first. I had to make the Marauder "Defyant" through lots of mods.

Now..... it's obvious. Just go for a ride or better yet, challenge her. The next thing you'll see is the back of a car that says: "Defyant Marauder"

"SMOKE" is the name of the car...my sister came up with it....she was looking at it one day and was going over all the black and then the headlamps and just said "you should call it Smoke". That...and the family is partial to the NASCAR driver of the #14 Tony Stewart...his nickname is 'Smoke'.

I name all the cars, my DD ("Alyssa Murano"); my mid-life crisis car ("Trigger"...had it since I was 16), there was also Dee Dee, Christine, Beyouie, Wampum....

I was born on August 11th so that makes me a (Leo)

I am much more of a night person and almost all my life have been so. My eyes have also always been sensative to light and I see better as the sun starts to go down and have excelent night vision. Very light colored blue eyes.
Even in the Army I always shot for night time shifts as an MP and or night time manuvers for combat missions. So the (Vampire) comes into play as most like to call me that know me well enough.

I had a friend back in the mid 90's when I started doing IT and telephony professionally who pushed me and mentored me. Every time something worked that he suggested and pushed me toward, he'd say "Imagine That!" as a smarta$$, since he KNEW the outcome beforehand!
In those days, naming was still 8.3. Email addresses were limited to 8 characters. I shortened his phrase to 'magindat' for a gmail account when gmail first opened by invitation in beta.
My good friend and mentor, Jim Frampton has left us. My respect lives on in the proud use of the name he gave me.
Further, ask just about anyone who's car I've worked on and they'll say it when the work is done - 'Imagine That'!
It's been a good name on the net for a lot of years. Hasn't been stolen much. Most people just don't get it.
Interestingly, it is the name of a city in the Philippines - pure happenstance.

How's that for a story?

Thus 1MTNCAT was born.

To the best of my knowledge it is also the top WV 4.6L Cougar. It's the only known Factory Stock Non-PI 4.6L 2V MN12 to run the 1/4 mile in the 13's with nothing more than bolt-ons, tune, exhaust and drag tires. (2004)

Mine is essentially a combination of Led Zeppelin (my favorite band) and a custom ZZ Top car I read about some many years ago in an issue of Hot Rod called Cadzilla. Everyone thought it was a combo of lead foot and Godzilla, Godzilla because of my lead sled Town Car, and I had/have something of a lead foot. I mean, I did try racing a Z71 Silverado once, with two other people in the car, with my Town Car. The Z71 was faster, but not by much. Ok, now thsi is running on. hehe

I like to think I have a sense of humour but also have a little bit of a competitive streak for driving. So between the humour and if I have given another competitor a "what for, this is what I have on my Marauder's license plate. And most people, those who can figure out that it's pronounced like a 'raspberry' or 'Bronx Cheer', they get a laugh out of it too.

(And, of course, I've had my share of "what for" as well)
