Anyone else ever had a problem getting into alignment specs with a coil cut up front?

I'd imagine if they didnt cut the coil evenly it wouldn't align right...

I do remember one other person who after having his coils cut couldn't get even near the carfixer spec's... Is your car way off?

Cutting a coil changes all your angles just like lowering springs, you will need to adjust camber first then bring the tow into spec.

I actually cut the springs, they're even. The camber is mildly off and Ive run out of adjustment before i get in spec

i aligned my car and couldn't get it to carfixers specs. i have cut coils and i know i cut them evenly. i also removed the bolt flags and i maxed out the cams and was only able to get the camber down to -0.4 degrees. my toe was WAY off and that was definitly eating my tires. i haven't noticed any more wear in 15,000kms

Even without the coil cut alignments are a problem. Cutting the coil or installing Eibachs just make it worse. First remove the flags on the camber bolts. If you really want to improve your odds my alignment tech told me to file the slots in the k-member in towards the engine to help get that last little bit of negative camber closer to zero.

there is nothing wrong with -0.4 camber, that is great. you do not want zero camber on these cars. Not even Ford tauruses, buick lesabres, take your pick of very non performance handling cars, have less than -0.5 camber. I ran my marauder with -0.3 camber and zero toe, and because I corner aggressively, I actually wore the outsides of the tires more than the insides (how's that for a change). I need more than -0.3 to get the tire wear even.

the flags are removed & the cam bolts are maxed, never heard of the filing of the slot, have to look at that tommorrow

That is where my car was stock, around -1.2. That will definitely wear your ta'rs. If you can get it down to negative half that would be great

any other suggestions on how to add a little more camber?

can you get offset moog problem solver bushings for these cars? you can for lots of other apps when you run out of camber adjustment. Let me look...

Edit. nope.

i guess i was just expecting more positive camber adjustment capability so when i maxed the cams out at -0.4 i was suprised.

I have had Eibachs since '03 and the mech had no trouble going to Carfixer's spec several years later with just the flag removal.

Weird?
