The car that set the LSR was wrecked but this one was built by Arfons to replace it. Back in the day when it was Arfons v. Breedlove, I was an Arfons guy, Breedlove always seems like kindof a rich guy (probably not true but that how he came across), Arfons was a backyard mechanic gone wild!

As a side note, check out the Green Monster here:

Thanks for posting this.A friend and I were talking about Arfons and this car earlier this week. I was also an Arfons fan.Back when he and Breedlove were swapping the LSR back and forth I kept up with it.I was not aware Arfons had died.Several years ago the History channel had an interview with him. It was amazing what he accomplished in a back yard garage and little money. I think he was working in a donut shop when he put the first Green Monster together. An amazing guy.

That is a cool piece of history. I wonder if it still works. It would be nice if somone buys it and takes it back to Bonneville to drive it.

Check out the all metal wheels....I guess that it is hard to find a ZZZZZZZZ speed rated tire!

I always remember Art Arfons for his green, multiple engined drags cars.

BTW: I bet that those wheel bearings get a little warm at 600+ mph....

I wouldn't be surprised if the bearings made for those cars weren't the precursors to the sealed type hub bearings we have today because the grease probably melted right out of the older style at those speeds.

I would also bet that it would have a lot of problems going thru todays tech inspections.

For a second I thought you were selling your Dodge Ram Vortex until I remembered it was blue.

Cool find!
