Hey fellas, got a question for those who want to listen and possibly help!

I just purchased a Black 300A about a month ago and I LOVE this car. It's been in my radar since '03, but we can't always get what we want when we want it. I gave up the mustangs and I finally got it!

Anyway, my car has an overwhelming amount of LAG. It's killin me! You know the feeling you get when you're only going 20 mph and the car is in 3rd gear already? The shaky, soft, spongy spot in the pedal? I get that ALOT! On the street, on the highway, etc. I'm not used to automatics! The only time that I really love the way my marauder responds is immediately off the highway. WTH? It's frustrating the hell out of me. Not enough to give up on my car but man! I'm used to 5 speed Mustang GTs!

I know the lag isn't supposed to be there. Why is it there? UGH!
What do I do? PLEASE! LOL

I got ahold of Lidio but that was before I really got into the car. I just wanted to set up an appointment sometime soon to get a Tune and 4:10s, but what do I do in the meantime? I use premium gas, oil change is new, and air filter is new.

Anyone else have this lag? Of course, it's probably just me!

Thanks in advance guys.

Sounds like you are in need of a tune. That will solve all the shifting irritations that are common in a stock Marauder.

How many miles on it? Mine felt like I was waiting forever riding the bands into another gear too before I got the Lidio tune. It's a lot better now. Still not as good as the JMOD or a shift kit like I'm used to. It will wake up with a tune and 4.10's! (Just with a tune, my 0-60 went from 7.5 to 6.9 secs!)

Take it easy on the car until Lidio can massage some magic into it.

Well, on top of what I mentioned before, my transmission just went out today. I have reverse capabilities, but nothing forward. I can't move forward! It just revs like I'm in neutral. My luck! Ugh!!!

that sucks man, maybe thts why it had so much lag, really these cars arent too bad off the line, check the tranny fluid, make sure it has some,

Could be the previous owner has already put in a special crappy tune. Mine is stock and its pretty quick (though not a stump puller) off the line.

mine did something similar to this where it would go in reverse but in drive it would only creep at about 1/2 MPH. it turns out it was just water in one of the connectors and was an easy fix

I got my 03 marauder about a month ago and it has a bit of a lag too and its all stock.I think its normal.

Really? That's exactly what mine is doing! It has reverse, but it will creap along about a 1/2 MPH. I will run that past the guy doing my tranny work. Thanks!

I'm a little confused on your use of the term "lag". Your comment "The shaky, soft, spongy spot in the pedal?" made me think you're talking about a hesitation when accelerating, but after reading all the replies, I think you mean the fact that the transmission upshifts very early and you have to depress the pedal quite a bit to get the car to downshift. If this is what you mean, then yes...it's "normal" for an unmodified Marauder. The factory shift schedule is biased toward fuel economy and tries to keep you in the highest gear possible. Getting a tune from one of our excellent vendors will fix that and put a smile on your face.

Put your right hand on the knob located in the console between the seats. Move it backwards until the indicator is at 1 and at the same time push the accelerator pedal to the floor.

Thanks that I could help. Jim
