WOW, talk about hate mail! Holy crap, these guys are nuts! I recently listed the guts of a 1951 12" NONWORKING Zenith porthole TV on ebay because I didn't have the heart to trash them. I figured someone out there might need parts or whatever. These sets in perfect working order and perfect exterior only sell for $150-$350.00 and there seems to be plenty out there in great shape. I wanted this for a custom aquarium.

I found it in a corner of a garage at a farmhouse I was working on buried under a bunch of blankets. It is FAR from perfect, but that is actually the way I like it. I've even thought about taking the listing off because of the annoyonce! I'm not lookin to make anything, just thought I could help someone in need.

I wonder how many antique forums i'm on now getting bashed...:argue:

Well then tell me what the most rare kind of antique tv/radio is and Ill post on there to sell the guts because I thought the TV would make a sweet pooper out in my outhouse......maybe even cause i lost my job and i needed the firewood? The opportunities are endless....

Does sound like something you could have fun with. Some people get too serious over the wrong things. If it was about losing one of their freedoms you probably couldn't get a rise out of them.

Well on the flipside of that they probably think we're nutso for being that way about "just a car."

When I was younger I was really into model railroading. I went to a couple of swap meets in my early teens and I remember thinking "these guys take this $#!+ WAY too seriously."

I'm sure every hobby is like that but yeah it can be startling when you're an 'outsider.'

You can really get them cranked up.....:mad2:..... by saying that you own a strip club and you gutted the TV to make a wall mount peep show.

A tube, about 3/4" diameter and 2" or so tall.Pull any that look like that and look carefully for the tube number on the side of the tube near the bottom.
1L5's are pretty scarce and several of my old radios use them.

I was gonna email you, but I thought that you are having enough poorly written emails about the auction already without mine. Good luck getting some money for the project.
