Up for sale is my 65 Chevy truck and here is the info.
I bought this truck two winters ago and thought it needed a new carb and head gasket and it would be ready to go... I was wrong. The engine block was cracked. Upon discovering this I replaced the engine with a good running 305. I drove the truck that had the 305 in it before I bought it along with the transmission. The truck is a short bed step side. The 65 Chevy currently has a 1983 305 engine and TH700R4 transmission in it or it could be a Turbo 400. Either way it's a 4 speed and it works fine. The truck also needed the wiring redone so I bought a Painless wiring kit for the truck, but didn't install it. THIS kit is meant for this truck, it is not a universal plug and play.
The truck also comes with a front end from a 63 Chevy truck and that front end isn't even in reproduction. The body on this truck is great!!! I finished the interior last summer and replaced the seat with a Ford Van seat that actually has seat belts. There is no body damage and is 99.5% rust free. The newer engine and tranny are in the truck, but need to be wired up. This truck can be back on the road if you hook up the wiring or if you want the body shop it's being stored in can do it for you. The truck would be perfect to cruise with or pickup products for your business. You can paint it or leave it as it. Either way the truck is solid! if it were up to me I would get the wiring hooked up, lower it and call it a day.
I am willing to work with you on the price, especially if you have cash on hand. If you have cash and are ready to go maybe we can work out a lower price, if you want to do a payment plan and I keep the title until you pay in full I am willing, but the price will remain at $3000.
I am asking what I paid for it and I put in over $1,200 worth of new parts. The wiring kit alone is worth $600.
I am willing to trade for a winter beater espcially a Ford cargo van. Let me know what you have. The truck is currently on Chicago's south side. Let me know if you want to view it. The shop closes at 5pm, but we can probably set something up if you are serious.
The only difference between the pictures you see and the truck now is the hood is off.
Thanks for looking.
