I am probably going to buy a van soon for my band and my dads business. I want to know if it's possible to put the cage from behind the two front seats to the center of the cargo area. I am thinking the area right behind where a second row would be.

I know it can be done eventually, but I don't know if there is a kit just for this part of a cargo van. I need it there so I can put in a row for people in the second row and make sure all of our gear stays behind us. As far as my dad is concerned, we would never need so much stuff to fill the whole van anyway.

Will this work?

Find yourself an E250 or E350 super van. If it has racks and bins, the partition can be moved easily. They are very versatile for custom setups in the back. Good luck.

Also, if the van that you choose does not have any partition whatsoever, try a salvage yard. Some of these vans end up there after an accident.

It probably wouldn't be difficult to fab one yourself either.

Whatever you do make sure it's solid. Last thing you need is all your gear hittin the guys' heads in a panic stop or accident....

At one time you could actually order the set up that you want right from the Ford dealer. It was called a Half Back. This set up gave a comfortable cabin for the passengers, and the necessary cargo area in the back with a partition seperating the passengers from the cargo. My brother worked for a small electrical contractor, and the owner had one of these as his pesonal van. It was a nice set up.

How about a dog partition,if it'll keep a dog in the back your gear should be no problem.

To answer your question, yes it can be repositioned. It can be mounted after the side door but before the tire humps. You have a good two feet almost to intall where you see fit.
