Dumb steering wheel question

I have an 01 Crown.

My OTHER car is big, ugly, black, heavy, FAST, stock Marauder. Heh.

The 03 Crowns/GM/Marauder have cruise/audio/climate on the wheel.

I asked dealer about putting 03 wheel on 01 Crown, assuming radio and climate the same as 03, which they are.

Anyone got any insight at all about such a job? You folks have boatloads of experience at these things, I fear not the same for my dealer.

As long as they are the same, I don't see why they shouldn't be interchangeable. I doubt there will be any connector problems, but who knows. FMC could have changed suppliers for the airbag/radio/and or climate control thus requiring different connectors. They only way to be sure would be to pull the wheel and see. My $.02's!

I suspect there may be differences in the clock spring and wiring.

Yes. To swap The Wheel with Climate/Redundant Audio Controls, you would need the Audiophile System/01+ Auto Climate Control, The WHeel, and the clockspring to match the harnesses. Loaded98LS is doing this on www.crownvic.net check it out.
