the news came in Monday as expected. What was less expected was that
the new police car would be the bigger Caprice and not the Commodore
(which was the G8)!

no civilian version (as it would throw off the EPA CAFE average)
which makes the "undercover street appearance" 9C3 package an
oxymoron.
They would make a great used car value by 2014 though. RWD full size
V8 6.0L almost as large and nice as my Impala.
BTW the car is sold in the Middle East as Chevrolet Caprice LS, LTZ,
Royale and SS and made in Australia which is where the G8 came from
(sold as Chevy Lumina in Middle East)
Did you know that the leftover G8 front end pieces are part of a
special edition local Holden Commodore called the Holden Commodore
Special Edition. It will be available on sedans, wagons and Utes (El
Camino style). We were supposed to get the wagon version and it was
to be called G8 SW and the Ute was to be the G8 ST.
One person mentioned how cool it would be if the 9c3 wore G8 front ends so it was more true to being a "street appearance package"; Buford T. Justice would be proud.
