So the NYC marathon comes up Nov 1st. An actor I like to watch on tv is running for team UNICEF so I was thinking (ouch) about driving, training up to NYC. How horrible would it be to drive up there for this? Should I Amtrak it? How does one get around (if at all) in a HUGE place like that? I'm just a country girl... ;)
Any thoughts would be welcome!!

Amtrak it and then you can use mass transit to any part of the city. It will save you a ton of grief and money trying to park in the city. Parking lots charge upwards of $40 to park and street parking is almost impossible. In Manhattan, they will tow your car as soon as you get a ticket so that's over $300 right there to get your car back.
Maybe watching it on TV would be a better option. ;)
