I think Mercury should have went ahead with the Vert concept for the Marauder, but then, Elena didn't want to put in superchargers.

Dodge has shelved vert plans for Challengers, even though the design still incorporates convertible elements (the seat belts, for example, attach like a convertibles). Maybe when the Camato vert hits the streets, this will change. Until then, the only place is to go aftermarket, and this company, which had the development contract with Daimler-Chrysler for the convertible top for Challengers, now offers the conversion. It's very well done, looks OEM because they would have done the conversions for Dodge. May still. Here's a shot of Plum Crazy (new color for 2010) and black two tone that I like a whole lot. Whole lot. As in I'd buy one if this were available as a factory option.

holy crap thats badass!

I'm sure its as slow as an R/T hardtop and handles like poop, but atleast it'd make a nice cruiser

Yes and no. I like the Marauder as a sedan and that's what it looks best as. With a drop top it looked okay, but it needed more work to actually look 100% decent. The design looked rushed. It needed work with the windshild angle and the area where the top once was.

Hmmm... seems like I've seen this car before.

Oh yeah, now I remember! My neighbor had one just like it 25 years ago!

It was bondo and primer from the door handles down. Above that was some shade of orange I've never seen before or since. Sort of like orange sheet rock.

The exhaust consisted of a single glass pack Cherry Bomb and some flex pipe.

He'd blast Super Tramp on 8 track tape while working on it. With the 40 watt booster you could here it from almost 50 feet away (unless the car was running of course).

I think it had a 318 (a few of them). I'm just guessing because that's what he had hanging from a chain tied to the walnut tree in his front yard.

That car sure did some awesome neutral drops! :burnout:

Dang. I hate retro styling....
