I just read a report in of those misc. ramblings sections in of the new magazines ( I think Motor Trend) that there has been a new company that has been awarded Small-Volume-Manufacturer status (like Saleen's status) and are to build Crown Vics with V10s for the police market. The report also said that there would be civilian versions available a year after that. I don't remember the name of the company (it wasn't a name that I could easlily remember) but when I go to the newstand I'll check it out again.

Now I'm thinking if the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis are supposed to get new sheetmetal soon, couple that to the V10 and then look out Charger and GTO!

2006 apparently for new body.

Was it "Scott Alder" making the V10 Vics? If so that's the company that has been working toward that goal for some time

It's Specialty Automotive Manufacturing (SAM) of Redondo Beach, CA. See Hot Rod Nov 2003 Pg 16

Has anything ever become of this V10 project as of December 2004?

Scott brought the car to San Diego for the last Jerry Wrobleski Dyno Tune. It is nicely done and it really goes, along with 390 rwhp without a S/C. It is a very tight fit although everything looks good underneath the hood.

There are some minor issues to an extensive job like this, but it is all done with attention to detail and was well thought out.

His car has been in a major magazine, possibly Motor Trend, and at least one Ford Magazine.

There are photos of it in the gallery taken by NBC Shooter, and Rocket Couch has also seen it in person, I believe. Scott is located somewhere near Los Angeles.

I have his contact info since we exchanged business cards, PM if you want particulars since he is not a sponsor. -kjs-

Lets hope this is true, I would love a V10 Crown Vic or a Grand Marquis.
It would be a torque monster, and I'm sure it will beat the GTO, Charger or the 300C.

I wonder if this set-up will compete with the new 6.2 Hemi V8 that Ford is working on.
