Yup! She's a beaut! Did the 428CJ have mechanical or vacuum secondaries in the carb? I think it was mechanical... :burnout:
I'd pimp that phat ***** all up and down the block. My first car was almost a Mercury Montego that had the same body style. It was green, black interior. Owner changed his mind about selling:mad2:. Later yanked the motor and sold it to a local drag racer, then the body sat behind his house, rusting away for 18 years till he died and the car went to the crusher. Sad.

That car is HOT!
Looks like a mostly NJ car, but I spotted a Thompson Dragway sticker on there...

WOW!!
All original, almost untouched drag car....I love it!
(I saw an old Cecil County Dragway sticker on the window.)
428 CJs were, and still are, awesome drag race engines .
Did you also check out the link to his '40 Ford with the all aluminum Big Block and twin 4 barrels?
John (aka 'POPS') will be "sportin' wood" after seeing that link.

Would that qualify as a time machine at some events?
Cool find!

I saw it the other day and have not been the same since!;) What a piece of history. A frind of mine has one of the original Canadian Ford Mustang Drag Team cars! Its 15 miles from here and still wears its original paint job. It also has a 428 and he just had it built to 1970 specs. It does rattle the fenders. I have been trying to get him to go the track so we can line em up!:burnout: What a great photo that would be.
