well tonight i took the car to cecil tonight just to get used to it. unfortunately it was SO packed that i only did one run. although the ET is nothing spectacular i feel the MPH is pretty insane! i went on my street tires so i aired them down to about 19-20, and turned the air suspension off. i did a small burnout just enough to get the water dried off OD off, TC off. the lights go down, i left the hole at about 1/4 throttle eased it up to about 1/2 by the 60ft. it went to second, eased on it some more, then at about the 1/8th or maybe a little B4 i went WOT and ened up with this.

60ft 2.47
330 6.28
1/8 9.14
mph 86.95
1000 11.575
1/4 13.59
mph 113.54

i didnt go WOT till almost half track and trapped at 113??!

what did I tell you about street tires :P, but good MPH man, when you hook the MPH will likely go down so don't be shocked. Low 12s easy though with a little bit of tire :D

The way you had to drive it, made the power later on makes the mph go up, spinning seems to as well. If you can hook well and make power from the get go your ET will be strong, and it may not run quite as much MPH. I can't say I know the physics of it all but having to half throttle and running a 12.4 on street tires gave me a higher mph a couple time than the mph on the 11.90 run

Wow. Time to take the 4.10's out or get slicks. What are all of your mods again? Yeah - your MPH is high! Might need some better control arms too. Also how is your T-lok? One wheel peel or both tires?

Ya beat me by 1/2 second! Is that all a blower is good for?:D

YAY! Only took you a supercharger to finally get into the 13's! LOL j/k

If you can get it to hook and with practice I see mid 12's all day long, once you really learn the car low 12's for sure.

Your ET is related to how good your 60ft time is. Your trap speed is related to how much HP your car has.

Your trap speed is indicative of a Marauder that should be running 12.30's to 12.40's with a proper 60ft time. 1.75 - 1.80 60ft or so. You get that car into the 1.6's and you may be knocking on the door of 12.0 to 12.1.

IMO...(for track purposes only)...unless you want to run them full time like I do...get a set of widened stock wheels with MT ET street drag radials for when you run at the track. They look fantastic, hook fantastic, and the DR's are barely noticeable to someone who doesn't know any better.

If you think its too expensive...you'll end up wasting more time and money trying to figure out how to hook at the track with weird wheels and big slicks that you don't need...and you'll continue to run in the 13's.

Also...you'll need some control arms. There are so many out there now, I honestly don't have a suggestion. When I put them on, I cut a full tenth off my 60'ft and voila...11's.

IMO...there's so sense in busting your ass on that eaton set up...and running 13's as a result of all of your hard work. Spend one last lump of coin...and hook that car to the track!

Good luck.

-Mat

Never said you'd stop there...:dunno:...but if you don't hook the car to the track you can run all you want...but not run what you want.

We have the same control arms.

Regardless of what your decision is...when you do finally hook...it won't take long to tear up your rear end. If you haven't already...look into a better than stock set up if you really want to race it.

I saw you two guys run each other and would have come over to talk, but you never came back. Heck, I only got in 2 runs myself, last one at 10pm. Still made it home in time to watch the bottom of the 8th inning. Oooff, long game , but awesome!

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone in here was planning to go to SSHS9, and if so would you be interested in the 10.90 Index class. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?p=820873#post82 0873

Yes, and your car is a masterpiece of perfection as well... Say, is it still running rich?

His car isnt going to explode the rear with 435hp, my friends 470/450 trilogy MM didnt kill the axles with NT 555's...

His car isnt a POS 2003, so the axles aren't made of clay :neener:

You definately need tires. I'm in agreement there.

Don't matter if it makes 500HP or 300HP. If you can't hook it its not going to run near the E.T. numbers its capable of.

It all depends on what you want. With a 1.7-8 60 ft. Its going to run much quicker. MPH will drop some, dependant on total HP and air temps. It can make more MPH with still cooler air.

So like the others said, get some stickies and let that thing eat!

Wrong. :fishslap:

Its only a matter of time. A few really good hooks at the track on the stock rear and 28 splines, and you'll be in a world of hurt. Didn't anyone watch NATEHAWKS video?

First off, I am out of high school, I'm in college... So before you try to sound like an "old and experienced" badass, try to get your criticisms right...

Secondly, Anything MM related, I learned off this forum, so if its wrong, blame the wonderful members of this site...

But it cant be wrong, this site is full of perfect tech information!

That's unfortunate, one would hope someone in college would make a better argument than "oh your car runs rich"

PS you'd do well to then qualify statements with something like "I think" "I read" if you don't know something first hand... being in college and all, taking info from others and presenting it as your own has a name :)
