Why don't y'all just get a Cobra tube? That smashed tube is probably going to restrict flow to thru the heater core, might not keep you warm enough in the wintertime.

Did you buy a kit, or gather the pieces yourself? Do you mind telling what the total cost of the components was? I went with the centri kit from DR because I could not afford the Trilogy at the time, and DIY was supposed to be impossible.

Dave - enlighten me useing a block off plate for the EGR. Does that means the EGR pipe from the exhaust manafold is also elimianted ? The other thing whats up with the coolant flow at the rear of the block brass T is that the oem route ?

FordNut- - useing the cobra tube is a great recomendation.

you can use the factory cobra heatexchanger if you want Kurt, thats what i did. Tom just went for the better one from frozen boost. i will probably be going to the same one for my new set up. i dont wana answer for Tom but it looks like he used the factory cobra mass air which is more then enough. if you max it out just throw on a diablo mafia mass extender.

Originally I got a factory used cobra heat exchanger. The seller was a scam artist, he said the exchanger was new, it looked like some one sat there and threw rocks at it. So I enede up buying the frozen boost unit and fabing up some brackets for it. The maf is a 90mm lightning maf with mafia extender.

RR|Suki

is 9 lbs of boost about the max on a stock motor?

depends on the blower, "9psi" is different from blower to blower, motor to motor, exhasut mods etc. For example I run 9psi on with my blower and make 530 or so at the wheels

Questions:
1: Will a Cobra timing chain cover work on our motor, for the Eaton swap?

2: I know i'll need a bigger fuel pump. I was going to go with a 255LPH pump. With that, do i need the boost-a-pump?

3: Does anyone know off hand if the Cobra came with the 39# injectors? And i take it that it would have enough flow to support the Eaton.

4: Do you need a bigger MAF? Or does it just make things easier?

5: Did the lower intake manifold come with the heat exchanger/intercooler pump?

Thanks guys.

Questions:

Not Needed, use the MM one
2: I know i'll need a bigger fuel pump. I was going to go with a 255LPH pump. With that, do i need the boost-a-pump?
GT Pump with a BAP is good
3: Does anyone know off hand if the Cobra came with the 39# injectors? And i take it that it would have enough flow to support the Eaton.
Yes they did, 39#'ers came stock
4: Do you need a bigger MAF? Or does it just make things easier?
Get a Cobra/Lightning MAF with a MAFia
5: Did the lower intake manifold come with the heat exchanger/intercooler pump?
All parts are sold seperately unless you find a package deal used.
Thanks guys.

True, but a better way to setup the Procharger kit may be to use an air-air intercooler and a different intake manifold. I don't recall the manufacturer, there is an aftermarket short runner intake that works really good with the turbos and centrifugals.

For the head cooling mod you need to grind material off the intake manifold and the adapter piece that goes into the freeze plug hole. I had to to grind five or six times before I got enough material off. thanks for the compilments, could not of done it without your original thread.. I don't mean to threadjack, but this is a VERY helpful Eaton-swap thread. Im glad TJ, that your swap turned out to be successful.

I talked to my cousin last night and we settled at $1300. I get:
-Eaton m112 with a few pulleys
-lower intake with intercooler
-All injectors and fuel rails
-JLT intake
-244???? MAF-it's aftermarket
-aftermarket intercooler
-1 gal aftermarket cooler resevoir
-all piping and tubing
-fuel pump and Boost a Pump

and i we're doing the swap at my other cousin's "Batcave". Side by side.

So all i need is
- Bracket adapters
- Belts
- Battery relocate kit
- New spark plugs

(if there's anything else I'm missing, please let me know)

Now, I'm going to change the plugs because they havent been changed in a while.
Should i go colder? And what brand would you recoomend?

And who do i have to talk to about the brackets?

Thanks for everything guys! When i do the install, i'll do a write up with loads of pics!

...its the coolant crossover modification that makes it all fun!

You wont use the 1gal reservoir on the MM, not enough room.
You wont use the intercooler piping and hoses, just make your own.
I dont see the IC pump/bracket listed
You need a GT Supercar Fuel Pump. (PFB-81...Ford Short #)
You need the alternator non-clutched pulley
DY754 IAT sensor and corresponding pigtail.
DEFINITELY do the cooling mod!

Im sure im forgetting something

Gortch for the brackets.
Close down the plug gaps. TR6IX work pretty good.

Stock Cobra intercooler reservoir.

Should be easy to just get the pigtail and wire up the OEM Cobra IAT sensor instead of drilling & tapping for the Lightning one then blocking off the Cobra mtg hole.

EGR blockoff plate and plug/cap for the manifold/header fitting.

Dont wast money on idler pullies!

Take your butt to NAPA and buy a good quality 6203 Double Sealed Bearing for about 8 bucks and just replace that!

Zack-
- I'll see if he still has the stock one
- I'll make my own hoses and piping.
- Let me get home and see about the IC pump and junk.
- I'll get the Fuel pump. Do i need the get a FDPM? On Lethalperformance.com, they recommend upgrading it so that it doesn't overload the circuit. Yes? No?
- I'll get the pulley. Would that come from a under drive pulley kit? Or should i just order it individually?
- I'll snag the IAT

- The cooling mod is a must. It was on the list in my head. Thanks for the heads up.

And the second trans cooler is a must now. I have a 3500 stall in there now.

I can do the bearings at work. We have some kick-ass presses.

I got a crank pulley if you want it, its a 2lb one piece lower. Bolts right to stock balancer. A 2lb lower with the stock eaton upper should give you around 10psi. Ideal setup is probably stock upper and 4lb lower 12psi. Fpdm should be fine.
