Passed along from a gearhead friend of mine:

"Car Collection
Try to guess what the value of this collection might be?

Punta Gorda is 50 miles north of Naples , Florida and there lives a guy with an amazing General Motors collection.

The Orlando Corvette club went to see the cars. Check it out."

No Fords, but anybody that appreciates cars will enjoy looking at these.

Bunch of nice cars. I've always loved GTOs and saw a couple nice ones in the collection.

+1 on the '58 Chebby.

It's about 20 miles from me. As you would expect they have quite a few car shows in the parking lot. My neighbor has a wicked GT-500 and he volunteers in quite a few of them.

I wonder if the owner of those cars would be interested in adopting a 63 year old?

Value of the Collection = PRICELESS. He's got nearly one of everything ever made by Chevy and Pontiac plus the whole collector's set of Corvettes from the beginning. He's got some beautiful cars there. Too many great cars there to even single out some favorites.

Wow. Just plain Wow.

Very nice, I googled an article about him and basically hes a self-made millionaire starting out in construction and ending up in property development. Ill never be rich but I like it when rich folks spend their money, especially in the US, its good for the economy (somebody sold him all those cars). I also like that blue collar stuff like Leno or Seinfeld where if you like cars, you go out and buy a s--tload of em and enjoy owning them. Not like some rich folks who just rathole their money away.

Totally beyond belief - beautiful collection. It's great that he has now turned the collection into a museum for everyone to enjoy.

Do I hear a proposal for Marauderville VIII or IX in the making? :)

He is living my fantasy life. The only criticism I have is that it's more a warehouse of cars than anything. If you wanted to drive something you'd have to move a dozen cars. Also, there isn't any battery tenders being used that I could see, so my guess is most won't crank. There was a vid link some time back (it may have been on another site) to the Sultan of Michigan's collection, which has two huge rooms, one American the other foreign and exotics. All those cars you could see were on battery tenders, and at one point they fire up one of the Ferrari's. You could also conceivably move a car in or out without much fuss.

Small gripe, I know. It would be wonderful to have that kind of problem -- having to move 5 or 6 cool cars to get to one to drive.

Edit: Here's the Youtube of the Sultan of Michgan's collection:

sorry, for some reason they don't want this vid to be embedded.
