Like you say it is funny at first glance. This idea is not new. Someone has already done it in the 70's I think. I went to look at a car for sale once in the 80's and the car owner had about 10 of these same type things. If my memory serves me right they were made by Cushman and used by the Post Office and maybe meter maids. Would be dangerous in todays traffic.

I have seen something similar on golf courses with a "pod" mounted in the bed selling beer, sodas, water and snacks. They may look funny but they deliver the goods.
