Here's a link to a rare shot of the new dash. It shows the rumored F150 dash components.

It's at the bottom of the page.

Geo,
The dash for the new Mustang looks kinda retro, but how does Ford plan to get a full set of working guages into that Dash Configuration? Any ideas? PLs share any insights you may have.

By mentally undressing the new stang, you know, by imagining it without its bra, i don't like it. Not that I like the look of the 03's either, except for the cobra. :D Sure it looks more like the 64's, but it also looks like a brick in the era of aerodynamics. And the interior............blech!

Yes, it does, and it's really spooky too. I had a '67 GTA, 390, 4 spd, 4:11, and I loved it. From the sketches and photos I've seen to date, there is a LOT of 1967 in this car.

I'm not sure about a healthy round of guages and where they would fit GordonB BUT here is some nice shots you won't find anywhere else. Well, only at Brad's Mustang Forums. These are from Twin_Turbo94's post under Spy Shots:

Geo,
Photo #9 from the link provided appears to show at least 2 real guages: my bet is Fuel and Temp. OK: Where do they put Oil pressure and Voltmeter? ANS: ???Down on the console like the MM??

you've got me on that one Gordon. Either we are not seeing the final product (or that is not the only guage package available) or Ford screwed up. I can't imagine a Mustang without a full compliment of guages. That would be very stupid. Carroll Shelby wouldn't sign on after 40 years to do another Mustang if the car was lacking something as basic as guages (or gages like GM calls them). We'll find out soon enough. All I know is VDO would make a lot of money otherwise selling trio-guage kits.

The all-new 2005 Ford Mustang will feature an industry-first color-configurable instrument cluster so customers can light their gauges in any of 125 unique colors. Like its unmistakable exterior, Mustang's dramatic new cockpit will turn heads and raise the standard for muscle car interiors just as the new F-150 has done for pickups. Ford and worldwide enthusiasts will celebrate the car's 40th Anniversary on April 17, 2004. The new 2005 Mustang will go on sale in the Fall of 2004.

Damn that dash is retro. Almost too retro. Amazing what different color light bulbs can do to a dash.

Maybe it's just me, but those gauges look awfully small / useless. We have enough fun trying to describe our engine temperatures to one another ("it's about 1/3 of the way up from 'C', but not quite") so I can imagine the lack of useful info that '05 dash will be providing the enthusiast.

Maybe Ford can get Autometer to provide some 'better' gauges...
