I shot these at my tuner's shop the other day. He's going to work with Mr. Norm, that's why he's closing down his GA shop and moving to Chi-town.

Notice it doesn't have any Plymouth badging (or Dodge, Chrysler, Daimler, Fiat), just 'Cuda.

BADAZZ!!!

I always loved that "HEMI" rear quarter paint scheme.

IMHO that car is uglyyyyy. Like i love the idea of the car itself and I even like the lines (sort of) But that color is wayyy to out there for me and im only 18! Plus the rear looks like a piece of plastic...

That color is right out of the 70's. Banana Yellow, I believe. Mopar's answer to Grabber Blue?

Was this car like an aftermarket conversion from some shop of a Challenger?

Yes, Mr Norm's, and I was told it's approved for titling as a 'Cuda. Kind of like the aftermarket performance shop conversions of the '60's and '70's.

Nice. I definately wouldn't mind a hard-top of that in Plum-Crazy Metallic. ;)

Pull out the check book! You can probably get one with a Kenne Bell already installed.

the rear quarters should be "flat" black, I believe they did this back in the day to make the back end appear bigger/more muscular,
I don't think this modern day verision needs to look any bigger
it's allready a pig with all that rear sheet metal.

I still think the car looks cool.

Came across this list of Mopar colors for the '69 and '70 model years:

FC7 - Plum Crazy Metallic (http://www.musclecarcalendar.com/70_charger_rt.htm)/In Violet Metallic (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/aarcuda/images/genfc7.jpg) (nicknamed Statutory Grape )
FJ5 - Sublime (http://www.musclecarrestorations.com/awards/images/cars/sublime/phrtv.jpg)/Lime Light (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/aarcuda/images/genfj5.jpg)
FJ6 - Green Go (http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/kr117/graphics/p1010005.jpg)/Sassy Grass Green (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/aarcuda/images/genfj6.jpg)
EK2 - Go Mango (http://www.geocities.com/chopper10speed/orangechallengera.jpg)/Vitamin "C" Orange (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/aarcuda/images/genek2.jpg)
FM3 - Panther Pink/Moulon Rouge (http://pantherpink.com/index.htm)
V2 - Hemi Orange (http://www.challengertaregistry.com/photos/members_cars/hemi_orange.jpg)/Tor Red (http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/70vo2runnersixbarrel.html)
FY1 - Top Banana (http://www.kittylynn.com/416challenger/)/Lemon Twist (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/aarcuda/images/genfy1.jpg)

I remember seeing all of them at one time or another with the exception of "Panther Pink."

FWIW, the retro 'Cuda is bad azz, but then if I recall, just about anything from Mr. Norm was bad azz back in the day.

Looks like a challenger with a different grille and taillights. Oh. It is. I'm bored now.

Plus, I prefer to stick to a car composed of parts made in four countries, not eight. No Plymouthchryslermopardodgedaim lerfiathemibarracuda for me, thanks.

It would've been cool to have a matching '70 front end to go with the '70 rear end. Instead, the front is a '71. But it looks good for what was done.
