I'll be wanting one...But I heard they were going to bring back the SVO and throw a Taurus SHO motor in to the new Mustangs.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

That on paper is awesome; but I kinda like the sound emanating from the 4.6 Liter 281 3Vs duel exhaust pipes LOL. But yeah that bites I just picked up a 2006 Mustang GT....oh well

300hp v-6 sounds good on paper but at what rpm does it go down the highway at 70 mph? with four passengers? with all accessories on? its probably just fine for most things true but I like a v-8 for lots of different reasons, torque, low rpms (low stress on engine)

I know of many guys including myself that wouldn't buy anything sporty without a V8. I could care less what power they put out.

I think they have too...The Challenger and Camaro V8s so strong out of the box!

Mustang shouldnt follow the Challenger and Camaro is the weight catagory however, I think a Strong 5.0L would keep the car lighter than the competiton.

The article did say not to count out a new V-8 (Coyote) for the Stang... Hmmm...

Guys, so far they anounced the v-6 Mustang powertrain. The V-8 GT powertrain will be unveiled at the L.A. car show next week. If Ford is putting a 305HP V-6 then I'm 99% sure a 400HP 302 DOHC will end up in the GT, hopefully with a 6spd trans also.

My guess is a 5.0L DOHC 420HP...I Pray to the FORD GODS for one anyway!

I think that V6 camaro could put out close to 360 with some serious cam, exhaust, intake, tune work.

I bet Lidio will do wonderous work with the 2011 V6 Mustang.

If they tuned that Taurust SHO V6 up (or un detuned it) and dropped it in a Rustang I might consider one,410 horses out of a V6 BEFORE aftermarket mods could make a nice,lighter,better handling car that would be a blast to drive and walk on Vettes with on the straightaway OR around the curves.

Well it looks like 2011 is going to look like this:

GT500 - Aluminum Block 5.4L DOHC Supercharged 550HP 520lb-ft
GT - 5.0L DOHC 405HP 400lb-ft
SVO - 3.5L DOHC Twin Turbo Ecoboost 365HP 350lb-ft
V6 Premium - 3.7L DOHC Duratec 305HP 275lb-ft
V6 - 3.7L DOHC Duratec 275HP 250lb-ft


This is all Rumors and Speculation...Ford is having fun teasing us. Mostly because they want to be able to sell the 2010 stock.
