View Full Version : Lost Thread About Messed Up Engines?
I was following the thread about someone claiming that someone had messed up a couple of MM engines with SC'ers, but I can't find it now. It seems like an important issue for us to follow. If there is someone out there guilty of this, we sure need to know it. If the info was BS, we need to know that, too, don't we? Since the alleged information was supposedly about someone in Florida, the source could have been putting out bad info about DR. If that's the case, I can understand Logan wanting to stop unsubstantiated rumors, or even outright lies. However, it would seem the better way to do it would be to refute those claims in the open, rather than pulling the thread, if that is what happened. A lot of people will always wonder if something is being hidden if it is done this way. Just my 2 cents.

PM Logan. He can explain. I did the original posting. And I do not wish to draw fire for it.

seems logical to post the reason why it was pulled. It had so many views, I'm sure Logan does not want to PM everybody.
it's either true or fake, and we as consumers should have the ability to know about a potential problem. Where's Ralph Nater when you need him?
Hey, Rich, you won't get any flames from me one way or the other. You found some info out there, and you wanted to share it with us. That's what we do. It might be good info or bad, but either way we have a chance to check it out and make up our minds. If the source you reported had inaccurate info about DR (which is kind of what it sounded like), and knowing that DR is an honest guy, I would think that he and we would want to shut down such lies in the open, not hide them. Again, this is just my 2 cents worth.

I posted the link, but after looking into it, the guy who originally did the posting on another forum is an a#$wipe who has no concept of what he is doing or speaking about.
I regret having spread his crap over to here and trust me when I say, I have received very satisfactory and reliable information that makes it irrelevant to us.
Sometimes I need to dig deeper before spouting off. I will not repost the link. Nor send it PM or email it. I was wrong.
Spank me if you feel the need.:alone:

I got the report for Dennis and spoke with him. It's not him... Who it is, no one knows... If you read the actual link, the guy who said what he did was just going off on a tangent from the origanal topic. IMHO, it was :bs:. So, I pulled the thread last night.

If it's not Dennis, then that's all we need to know...this thread is now officially boring...
:D
LML, that's cool, I just want to be sure my motives aren't misunderstood. Since this board has been up, we have all shared opinions and facts, some good, some bad, but always openly discussed and debated. If a report comes out that seems to flame someone (and based on the alleged location, this report seemed to flame DR), we need to be able to investigate it and either confirm it or refute it. When a thread like this is pulled down, I fear that some people, rightly or wrongly, will always wonder if MAYBE there was some link to DR that they now can't find out about, and therefore hesitate to do business with DR. A solid guy like Dennis should not be deprived of business because of lingering doubts which could have been resolved out in the open. On the other hand, IF there was any truth to the story, regardless of who it concerned, the rest of us should have the opportunity to check it out and make our own decisions before we put our money and our cars on the line. Once again, just my 2 cents. I know the moderators always make the call.

DITTO !!! :bandit:
Dennis did reply last night...I read it. And, I know for a fact it had nothing to do with him. I vote this thread gets :uzi: as well.
No offense Ross, I'm just sorry you missed Dennis' reply. I can assure you, there are no problems or downsides with doing any business with any of the vendors here....now.
No offense taken, Todd, or anyone else. Glad it got sorted out.

I was a Dennis' place today for my stage 1 and spent half the day with him. I witnessed him dealing with this issue first-hand and there is NO truth whatsoever in what was implied in that post.
What IS true is that Dennis did an excellent job for me at an excellent price AND put up with me under-foot for half the day. He WOKE my car UP!! He let me follow him to drop off another MM for a sunroof, and let me do it in a S/Ced MM....WOW and WOW....what a car.
I've started saving again, this time for a new exhaust, and when it's time, I will positively get it from Dennis Reinhart. After today, I have every confidence in him.
BTW, that place is like a grown-up candy store. I saw the new intake, the Cobra manifolds, the multi-function display, a supercharger being installed and the Dyno. Dennis said he will be doing a dyno-tune in a few weeks.
