• The ignition switch is in the OFF position


• The driver and front passenger safety belts are unbuckled


While the design allows you to deactivate your Belt-Minder, this
system is designed to improve your chances of being safely
belted and surviving an accident. We recommend you leave the
Belt-Minder system activated for yourself and others who may use the
vehicle. To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the
Belt-Minder feature while driving the vehicle.


1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT

START THE ENGINE)


2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1

minute)


• Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt


warning light turns off.


3. For the seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle


then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending in the unbuckled state.


(Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt


warning light turns off.)


• After Step 3, the restraint system warning light (airbag light) will be


turned on for three seconds.


4. Within approximately 7 seconds of the light turning off, buckle then


unbuckle the safety belt.


• This will disable the Belt-Minder feature for that seating position if it


is currently enabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning


light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.


• This will enable the Belt-Minder feature for that seating position if it


is currently disabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning


light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by 3


seconds with the light off, then followed by the restraint system

warning light flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.

No more dinging when you have your seatbelt off...not that I dont wear mine, but at least I dont have to hear the ding when I drive around the block to the store without it on...Its not a big thing. Just a little less annoyance in my life.

Mine came disabled :D

so did mine.... it would do it with the first one i had tho... this second one came with no dinging... unless someone is riding shotgun and they dont have theirs on

It's not permanent either! Replace your battery or unplug the negative terminal and it's back!

I thought this worked for ALL seats not just the drivers. Eg. do you really have to do the front passenger seat as well?

Yup, the car acts the same when you go through the process in the pass seat.

so did mine.... it would do it with the first one i had tho... this second one came with no dinging... unless someone is riding shotgun and they dont have theirs on

Hey Mac, based upon your signature photo, you should probably keep your seatbelt reminder enabled! ;)

not true at all. have had mine disconnected multiple times and it it still disarmed. there is a process to turn it back on though.

you just do this again, and it turns it back on.

yeah thats what i though. its been a while since ive looked it up. i left the passenger active so i can let the mm ***** at anyone sitting in the front to put on their belt.

This was my experience with my old P71 - I disabled it, but when I'd work on it where I disconnected battery it'd come back on.

I had my battery disconnected for 20 minutes today...the Ding is still gone.
