Congrats on your promotion! Of your former rank, I still prefer "Sergeant" to "Senior Airman", dont know when or why they changed that (they didnt ask me about my opinion!)

Congrats on your promotion! Of your former rank, I still prefer "Sergeant" to "Senior Airman", dont know when or why they changed that (they didnt ask me about my opinion!)

Wasnt it "buck sergeant"?

The US Air Force gives out certificates for selection for promotion? When do you expect to actually pin on your new rank with a line number of 2,402.9? Remember, it is not officially official until the folks at Finance make the change. ;)

You are correct, it was "buck sergeant" and I am pretty sure the last group in the USAF promoted to that rank was in early 1989.
