View Full Version : Reminder... No Political or Religious threads

I am not one for rules, but this seems to be the one that would make any since on a car site. We are all brought here for one reason, The Mercury Marauder.

Let's think of this: Most of us in The United States are very divided on many subjects, political especially. Religion is also a subject we will all be dividied on. If one doesn't agree with another this creates dispute, which will lead to further drama on this site and results in it not being such a nice place to be any longer.

Topics that are linked to political and religious topics should stay off the board too. Topics such as tax spending, unemployment, prayers, what politicans are up to... you get the idea. I guess the only subject that can come close to a religious thread that is fine is holidays. No one is left out in that case, everyone has their turn.

Somethings are best kept to ourselves and these two topics must remain to ourselves. We will all get along better and have a nicer place to post. We probably don't all agree with one another on topics too, not just political or religious, but those are big topics. Some people devote their opinons and lives to these subjects. It's not simple are a product that can be easily debated. These subjects are just best left alone.

Some of our opinions will tick other people off and might even cost a friendship that we made off of our site.

It seems like this rule has slipped a lot recently, but it's just a reminder on how much more fun the site was before we had some disputes. It's alright now, but it can be better. It especially makes me laugh when a MOD will start a thread breaking this very rule set by the creator of our site, Logan. Then again they are in charge. They decide when to enforce the rules, when to censor and when they can break the rules for their own saying.

Actually the main rule is to not be a trouble maker, even if you stay within the "official" rules. Ask AJ about that.

I haven't broken anything in that case. How am I going to contact a banned member?

Sometimes I don't agree with the management at all. There isn't a compaint box. If they wanna change the rules that's fine, but do it. Don't just give rules to be followed and live above them or just let them slide when it's in ones favor the rest get shut out.

Freedom of speech doesn't apply here. Fair and equal representation doesn't apply here.

Careful where you go here, Dom.

If you want censorship, maybe we out to carry it over to exclusion of discussions on car movies, and Christmas decorations, and troublesome cops, and James Brown vs. Ray Charles. But I digress...

Relevance is in the perception of the individual.

Interesting thought, Dom; but we are not the Borg.

There are six of us owner/moderators, some with mid-west Conservative views, and some who might be Eastern liberals, with generational gaps spanning several decades. Most all are college educated with a PhD or two thrown in, with widely varying professions and economic standing. We do our best and can, have, and will make mistakes, and not always seem consistent.

Like I said we're not the Borg, just some folks (who are friends) with a common interest, doing our best.:soapbox:

Happy New Year:hug2:

If the contents of a thread bothers you, just don't read or post a reply to the thread.

That has nothing to do with anything. You bring up the past like a woman on her period. Is it that time of month for you?

There is no shaved bush in the office? Except maybe when Clinton was in. Now the debate on old bush VS youg bush, I like a little variety myself. I would think the younger bush is sometimes a stinky bush, because he was an avid jogger/bicyclist. Now if Hilary would have got in, that would have really upset the bush movement and created alot of friction between her and bush.
