This will be the first time for me at the track. I am going with a bunch of guys from my local Mustang Club. I'll be running in the street class but wanted to checkoff here on little tactics to get my goal of low/mid 13s
Checklist:
Rear tires 15-20psi
OD - OFF
Air Ride - OFF
Launch?? I think pre-loading vs flashing due to the traction issues with the new motor?
What do you all think?

Well went to the Sacramento Raceway today; first time at the track. I really need a driver MOD! It was pretty cool but the track took awfully long to prep because of the weather...didnt run till about 11A. I met a couple of cool guys out there; met a fellow Marauder owner and a guy with a New Challenger. Mike (the Challenger owner) really gave me some insight being my first time at the track; really learned alot from him. His times where actually worse than mine because he couldn't hook up on his lane; they shut the track down after his run. They re opened after they put down some sand prepped some more etc.
Anyhow the track was a little wet so we couldn't run the qtr mile...so only 1/8th today. I ran a ET of 9.016 and an RT of .634 and 81.315MPH. I guess it could be worse (just flashed the converter on this run). The second run was a debacle I red lighted (I tried to compensate because of the delay I am experiencing) and tried to pre-load at 2K but had no traction off the line and wouldn't hook up at all and let off. I was to say the least PO'ed! I thought for sure I would at least go 8.90s or so once I compensated/adjusted. Oh well, looks harder than it looks I guess...LOL I am still getting used to the TORQUE in this bad boy...I am used to hammering the go peddle and no problems with traction.
Anyhow here is a quick link (my wife got a little excited in the video sorry LOL):

What DRs are you running again? I would pre-load to 1,200 rpm and then just roll into the throttle until you get the hang of it some more. You can then increase your pre-load. Your DRs are absolutely critical to any good times - you got too much torque.

Hey Glenn,
Thanks for the input. I'll try that next time out...the torque and hooking up is more difficult than I thought. On the street no biggie just fooling around...at the track uh no. I really need to get more seat time and get used to launching it. I might go to a test and tune should get 10 runs from those events normally and worth paying the extra bucks. A few things I need to sort out in the tune delay in the 1-2 shifts and lean tip in with the new MAF/Motor. No DRs yet looking to pickup a set along with doing the axles/lsd because I am paranoid.

i have a set of drs if your intrested, although shipping would suck. they are also smaller which will give you an added edge (will act like lower gears).
