Passing of a Veteran

My dad passed away in his sleep early Sunday morning, at the young age of 90.

He was a WWII veteran and saw action in North Africa, Anzio, and Europe. He was awarded a Silver Star and 2 Purple Hearts amongst others during his service. He was in the artillery with the 45th Division (Thunderbirds)

He was also one of the liberators of Dachau.

His career was with the NJ Department of Weights and Measures, insuring that vendors were not shorting the consumer.

He was also heavily involved with the Boy Scouts of Burlington County.

He is now with his maker.

Denise and I will be in NJ for at least this week.

Jay, we are saddened by this news. On Saturday evening you and Denise told us you were on your way to NJ to see him. Our prayers go out to you two, and especially your mom. Your dad lived a full and useful life from what you've said. And he was a Veteran. (My Dad was a Navy Vet.) That makes him extra special in my book.
