Has anyone else wasted a minute or more watching the movie "District 9" I wasted 45 minutes of my life and one dollar to rent. What a Baaaaad movie. I just wanted to help stop anyone else that likes Sci-Fi movies from wasting brain cells on this turd of a movie. I think I would have had more fun breathing the wonderful aromas in a dirty mens restroom than watching "District 9".

Last good movies Ive seen:
"The Lives of Others" (about East German spies)
"In Bruges" (about Irish hitmen)
"Rocknrolla" (about English mobsters)
I love sci-fi and want to see "Moon" but I havent seen any good sci-fi in a long time. I had read "District 9" was good but Ill wait til its on cable.

+1

Marianne & I watched District 9 this past weekend and we thought that it was a pretty good movie.
If my wife liked a sci-fi movie....that is saying something!

BTW: With the ending....you just know that there will be a sequel.

If Joe's wife says it's good then it's good enough for me. I'm headed to Blockbuster.

It was definitely different! And we actually paid the big bucks to see it in the theater with the overpriced drinks and popcorn. They did set the ending up for a sequel.

I enjoyed the movie, too. Made a pretty strong social statement without getting all preachy.

+1 on the sequel.

We have it on Blue Ray. Good movie in my opinion.
Perhaps a better tv for someone is due... :dunno:

Infinity +1 :baaa:

Though if you want to know about a bad sci-fi movie, check out StarShip Troopers II: Marauder. I had hopes because it had our car name in it and I liked the first one, but it turns out to be the poster child for cheap knockoff sequals riding the coat tails of the first original.

It was the first movie my g/f and I saw in the theater and she picked it and she isn't a big sci-fi person either but I liked how they set it up for a sequel.

Thats what I really liked about it...nice set up in the beginning...very different and unique.

Getting tired of the same old Terminator Salvation/Transformers type movies. This movie was a very nice departure from the norm.

Kadiddlebabe and I both liked District 9. It started out a bit slow though.
