I know at one time Ford was making or going to make a long wheelbase CV for fleet purchase, but I don't think I've ever seen one. Has anybody ever seen one on the street?

The Ford Fleet website still shows a 6" longer wheelbase version available for Taxi use.

Is this one:

Yes, that is a long wheelbase crown vic. That is the first one that I've seen also.

This could be the fabled Marauder 'L' that AJ was seeking!

They are widely used in NYC in the taxi fleet.

I have riden in them countless times and loved the back seat leg room.

Seems like one of those would make a neat car to put all the Marauder parts on from a wrecked Marauder donor, if somebody had the time, the money, and the inclination.

The middle east has as many special edition and various panther models as the US does with special edition mustangs..

they offer extended CV's and MGM's for sale to the public... Well, i dont know about anymore, they have been discontinuing about every option in the book lately...

Yeah I remember reading up on some of the special edition LWB models they had 4-5 months ago.

What's the deal with that "Rear AC". Is there a coil back there somewhere or is there just ductwork down the tunnel?

Better to do that to a Town Car. Then you'd have the proverbial 'Hot Rod Lincoln" circa 2010.

Is it just the back door that's different, and all the other sheet metal the same?

Everything between the rear of the drivers door and the rear of the passengers door is different, the trunk and the front is still the same

I had to read that 5 times before it made sense.
So, in other words, yes it's the back door that's different.

You're one of the few people who actually know the original version. ;)

Extra points if you can tell me who wrote it.

BTW I have seen plenty of these cars in Chicago. They are nice and I usually hold out for them and put my hand down when I see the Ford Escapes and minivans.

the only reason I would want a LWb marauder is so I could remove the back seat make a custom bed frame and get a custom matress and have a gang bang back there.........with all girls of course.

Back seat? When I was in HS, all I had was a regular cab truck, and it worked.
