I'm debating on this one. I know BillyGman is running 4.56's. Anyone else running that gear? Any problems? I'm looking at two mods right now. The gears, and that new Pro Racer Software from Superchips. This will work on all Modular cars, I have two, and allow for changes on the fly. This is going to be awesome. Thanks for the link Sarge.:help:

having the 4.10's, I think the 4.30's would be a bit better. I'm so used to the 4.10's now. I suppose starting with 4.30's is fine. I'm not switching, but realize alot of trucks come with 4.10's they are not that wild of a gear. true trucks turn bigger tires, but not by much. Out 27.9 inchers are as big as alot of stock truck tires in total height.

our Marauder tires are 28". I have the 4.56's in my Marauder, and I like them. It took away a little of my top end, but not a whole lot. W/the 4.10's my car started breathing hard at 110MPH, and now w/the 4.56's it starts breathing hard or laboring at 100MPH. I can take it up to 120MPH no problem still, but it just accelerates from 100-120 slower. But any crazy races that I've ever got into even on the wide open highway always were over by the time I hit 100MPH anyway. So I don't miss the 4.10's, and furthermore the car spins the tires from a dead punch w/out using the brakes better than it did before(now that I have the 4.56's).

Thanks, I was curious about that (4.56's). Let me state that my upgrade to whatever gear, will be complimented by an MMDS.

Getting my 4.10's put in on Friday. Bought the stage one package from Dennis R. Not interested in doing 100 or 120 just like cruisng without the car always going into passing gear to get up a hill. Let you know more next week.

HAVE 4.10 NOW , WOULD GO WITH 4.30 IF I DID IT AGAIN . LIKE THE BIG NUMBERS (140 PLUS) WITH 4.10 5100 RPM , 27.5 TIRES EQUALS 2.91 RATIO IN O.D. 54-5500 RPM (RIGHT IN POWER CURVE)4.30 IS 3.05RATIO IN O.D. IS 150MPH . A DO ABLE DEAL !!!

4.30's are a nice trade-off between the performance of the 4.56's and the practicality of the 4.10's...

Such is why I'm running 4.30's in my car... :)

I love my 4.10's but to do it over again or if money were not an option, I would go with the 4.30's.

Like Logan said the 4.30 is a very good trade off between the 4.10's and 4.56's. If turning tires is what you are looking for 4.30's will turn them from a stop without using the brakes and also from a 15 mph rolling start and still getting 19 to 21 mpg.
4.30 is the only why to go!

And the verdict is.............I'm gonna go with 4.30's

Thanks for all your input, it has been exactly what I needed, as usual from this site.

Logan and schuvwj, do you have new driveshafts?

And have had taller gears in ligher cars. I knew before I read much on the board that this car would feel great with 4.30's. Guess what? IT DOES!!!

Now if I could just get back out to the garage and finish the headers! (As soon as the dipstick tube comes in)
