Just in case you didn't catch the show, there are a lot of predictions that Ford will be the overall #2 automobile make surpassing Toyota in 2010. Time will tell.

^^^^^ YUP! ^^^^^

Stopped in at the local Ford dealer today as they had a new SHO on the lot. I explained to their sales guy that came out that I wasn't shooping, only curious, but he gave me the $5.00 tour anyway. Three words sum up my impression of the car.

VERY

VERY

NICE

No doubt whatsoever in my mind that Ford's a great car company.

Nice. Only automaker that didnt take government money too! Always been more of a GM guy but since they terminated the Fbody in 02" they've never been the same...

I say go get 'em keep building great cars...Just don't let the bean counters ruin a good thing again for the 20th time.

Same here. Feel the same way. I had a 1997 Camaro SS.

Reading the comments on articles like that always annoys me. It's absurd how many people are "experts" on a manufacturer because they owned one and didn't take care of it. And I mean that for ANY car. For all the cars I've seen (which even is admittedly not a huge number), Ford has been the most likely candidate to hold together and outlast other vehicles. Every GM I've been in and heard about from friends, while running mechanically to a decently reliable rate, just seems to fall apart over time. Honestly, regardless of whether or not Hondas or Toyotas or Nissans or Mitsubishis are reliable (my Galant worked like a top for the entire time I owned it, and even though I ragged it quite often I took care of it), people just don't know how to take care of those cars, they REQUIRE attentive maintanence schedules or will get run into the ground. On the flip side of that though, it's honestly an impressive achievement to see the numbnuts that can manage to completely run down a Honda...

I dunno, I love my Ford, but I'm not inclined to hate other manufacturers because I own one, I think it's absolutely stupid to be that way also.

Volkswagen is now #1 in number of units produced, followed by Toyota and GM. Ford is a distant 4th. In 2008, Toyota and Volkswagen each produced roughly 12 million units, GM 8 million and Ford only 4 million. Not sure where you get your info.

I'll clarify next time but the information came from the actual show. The article is merely based on Ford achievements during the show.
