NOTE: I am posting this on www.ck5.com too, not just here.
The right brake light seems to be a problem on my 1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer. Sometimes there will be no light at all and now the tail-light works, but the brake light doesn't. It will stay lit, but will not get any brighter when I tap the brake petal while the drivers side will light up.
I know this from looking at the reflection of light off the garage wall when I was backing it in. Also my friend was following me one day and said no brake lights were working at all, just the tail-lights. One brake light came back and the other still goes on and off. Sometimes all together too, not just for braking purposes.
What is lose or needs to be replaced?
Thanks in advance.

Is it wired for trailer lights? For some reason, I got this impression.
If so, maybe they were wired wrong, or loosely. Check the wiring.
Pull all the bulbs and check the sockets for looseness or corrosion.
Park it in front of a window and wriggle stuff around so you can see if anything you do makes things work.
Or just get rid of it and buy an F-150!

Yes it is wired for towing and I don't recall this problem happening until after all of that was hooked up. U-Haul hooked it up for me. Do you think I can take it back and ask them to fix it or is this simple enough for an idiot like me?

Trailer wiring is so often the culprit.
Locate the trailer harness and disconnect it (including any associated grounds) and see if that fixes it.
There is another way to handle this.
You will need your girlfiend's help.
Go to a parking lot.
You need to stand about 10 - 12 feet directly behind the vehicle while your girlfriend starts the car and puts it in reverse.
Focus on the bad tail light.
Tell her to release the brake and mash the gas.

The gas petal doesn't control the lighting. How would that do me any good?

Now is the car supposed to be in drive or in reverse when she mashes down on the gas pedal?

It won't do you any good, but it will do many of us a lot of good....
