This would be GREAT! It's so stupid to have two. They would save a buttload of $$$$ doing this. What a no brainer!

It will save only one million a year($1.99 for one plate actuall cost to $2.49 for two) is what I read. Also they have the FULL support of the state police to keep the front tag. Also keep in mind down revenue from street light cams..........
But we did get a better tint law passed, so who knows?

$1 miillion is still a lot, especially since Illinois is broke. I rather doubt those numbers are truthful. Probably put out by the plate suppliers.
The State Police will get over it. Other states get by ok.
I'm sure the cameras can get a pic of the rear plate as well.
What is the new tint law?

So what would you put in the front holder if the state went to one tag? The black Marauder plate?

No front bracket whatsoever. My front bumper needs to be repainted anyway.

35% on all windows. Unless you have something darker on the back glass then its 50% on the fronts. Went in to effect 1/1/10:D

We got a local place here always advertising on the radio, their tag line is "You can't get no a$$ behind clear glass!".

Actually Case, i'd prolly just roll the old beater into school and plastic weld the holes before allowing any fill. Great technique, fast, easy, kinda like you and karaoke.

I hate the factory front bracket as much as the plate. It's huge and retarded.

Eh, the holes aren't noticible. I tool that ugly bracket off of my car as soon as I got it home. (Dealer had their advertising tag on it, which came off, then I said, "I sure don't need this ugly bracket either.")

Coming from a LEO standpoint I don't like the idea of taking off the front plates. But from the guy thats always wanted to remove the front plate from his car stand point, AWESOME!!

Lol, talk about mixed emotions, huh? Personally, I like the front plate, it breaks up the gigantic front bumper. Everytime I see a Marauder with no front plate it reminds me of that movie Cars. Which was awesome by the way. Big ol' goofy looking, grinning mouth shaped animated cars. No offense to yous who never needed to have a front plate.

^Ha. And the Marauder with a de-badged grill reminds me of commercials where they have to take the Ford and what not, badges off the cars cuz they are too cheap to pay the car makers to use their trademarks on TV.

Everytime I see your Avatar, I want to get smokey and watch Tropical Thunder, lol.

Interesting to see if it would happen, just wondering if it would still cost the same as 1 plate

Mokena, Illinois , No wonder you dont get pulled over, You live in a farmville area. Try driving near Oakbrook or westmont, they will pull you up in a jiffy, and ask you to bend over and literally grab shovel from there trunk, place that ticket on a shovel and BOOM! shove it up in your ass.

I never had one on my 97 Camaro SS and never had a problem with law enforcement. Even on my Beretta GTZ I had. Again. No problems from the law.

I hate those damn front plates. They are truely useless and look like hell. My car already had ugly lagbolts drilled in when I bought it new; there was an old post here someplace about some plugs that were made for those Honda 2000SX (whatever) two seat sports cars and thats what I have been using to plug the holes for over 5 years w/o a problem (though I do carry the front plate in the trunk just in case.)
