Went to hasset ford in wantagh ny last week to buy a new belt tensioner for the merc due to the squealing pig under my hood. Usually I buy my parts from tousley ford but I did not feel like waiting for delivery and the car may be getting retuned this weekend so I wanted the tensioner as soon as possible. At hasset the tensioner cost me $102 dollars including tax. Looked on tousley ford site $78 msrp and they sell the tensioner for $37. That price is 10% above cost. It is ridiculus that the dealer charges so much for parts even above fords msrp, it is also equally ridiculus that I bought the part. Live and Learn

This is when you call Ray the Dealer and see what his price is from Philly.

I bought mine from AdvanceAutoParts, I paid less than $50 for mine.

If you develop a working relationship with a local dealer's parts guy he can give you a discount, my local guy's price is usually really close to Ray or Tousley.

Being you are in NY, I can help you with Ford parts. Just give me a PM when you have a issue. BTW, are you coming out to Deer Park Sunday for our Meet?

E-town opens up in April. I usually try to make it at least once to the track during the year.

They wanted $417 or so for my rear axle kit! I simply asked nicely for a better price and $290 later, I walked out much happier.
