I just went to a local L.A. speed accessories shop in West L.A., Anything Ltd. (corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Butler 310-473-2941), and Sean there told me that German manufacturer, H&R Special Springs, L.P., is making a set of front progressive-rate springs for the Marauder. Sean found out about these springs because he said that he had been researching springs for another Marauder owner (anyone here?).

Sean knew of the Eibachs, and also knew that the Eibachs are NOT progressive-rate. The shop is a bit on the pricey side, and all the work is done somewhere else, but they have a lot of premium accessories there that I haven't seen anywhere else, and Sean seems very knowledgable about the things I was interested in doing (springs, exhaust, Hansen alignment). One cool thing they had was a Japanese brand of a Nite Shades-type product. They said they would paint my taillights like the S55 concept car for $200. They will disassemble, tape, paint, reassemble. Seems kinda worth it.

Anyway, Sean called the H&R distributor while I was there and they said that they'll probably get their springs in about two weeks (they said that two weeks ago, too, Sean told me). That's all the information I have on this . . .

Oh, I almost forgot . . . here's a link to H&R's website:

http://www.hrsprings.com/site/frameproducts.html

Since it's a brand new product, I don't think there's any information about the Marauder springs on the website.

If H&R does do a progressive 1.5" drop spring, I'll be first in line.

I have heard of H&R Springs. Very well known brand in Europe. They have developed the Springs and complete Suspensions for the Audi RS6, Porsche Cayenne, WRX Sti, BMW Z4 and other high-end, high performance vehicles. Would be nice to see another option for our MM's.
Surprised that they are taking on such a small market (in comparison) like the MM.

NBC - Could you check if they are also developing shocks for the MM?

Best to check with our member here, MI2QWK4U, before ordering anything. The Eibach springs were custom designed for his MM...

Yup, I want to check with H&R directly, somehow, and confirm for myself that these were designed specifically for the Marauder. Hopefully H&R is exhibiting at SEMA somewhere (I'm going for one day only, Friday).

I went to the H&R Special Springs' booth and spoke with Steven D. Perret, U.S. General Manager, and asked if they were in fact developing front springs for the Marauder. His response, "As far as I know, H&R is not developing springs for the Marauder. The market is small and I doubt that H&R will ever produce a product for the Marauder."

NBC -

I grew up in WLA and have been a customer of Anything Ltd. and Shawn for 20 years.

Shawn is making my custom spoiler.

He is a great guy. Tell him you know Paul - he gives me a good discount when I ask or need it.

Thanks, Directedby . . . I wonder if it was you he was speaking of when he told me of the other Marauder owner he had been doing the research for? Shawn does seem like a great guy . . . thanks for the tip, because I think I'll be seeing a lot more of Shawn as my Marauder gets more goodies . . .

Are you talking about a custom front chin-splitter type spoiler or a rear spoiler? I know you already ordered the factory rear spoiler (which I think looks great, by the way). I am still looking for a custom front spoiler (sometimes called a chin-splitter) with a large polyurethane-type air dam. I was thinking of just mounting the '03 Mustang Mach 1 factory chin splitter onto the front facia, but it's faily narrow (in height), and the effect is a bit too subtle both visually and functionally.

NBC

I had Shawn fabricate the factory spoiler the way I wanted it.

I have not seen it yet.

I had the middle part (cut out) filled in.

I hope it looks as good as it does in my mind.

Have any of you gotten these springs?

I had them on my Mustang. It was like a pogo stick after I installed them. Although I think the factory shocks have more damping than my mustangs did.

I am going Eibach this time around but I am just curious if any of you tried the H&R's out.
