I got a PM about my 64 falcon so I thought some of you might like to see it. I spent about 4 years building it. Except for the engine and trans the car was built to the specs of Dick Brannan's car in 1964.
just a few specs
engine 331(stroked 302)
Trans ford racing superduty 5 speed
Driveshaft 99 P71(cut and blanced)a lot of hot rod guys use this one.
Rearend 57 ford 9in, detroit locker with 4:11 gears
The white one is My 70 1/2 Falcon 1 of 66 built with 351C, 4sp, 9inch posi. I bought it in 1990 and spent almost 10 years restoring it.

I like your 70 1/2 Falcon. I had a 70 GT Torino with the 351 C 4-barrel. I always will have a fondness for the 70 and 71 Sportroof body style.

Very, very nice '64, but love the 70 1/2. That's one rare car. Is that aTorino grill on it?

(not stock) same color Vintage Burgandy with black interior.
The car is mint!
Gotta Love It!

Very nice repro of the vintage racing Falcon. What manifold are you using on the stocked 302 - very unusal. I owned a 1964 Falcon Sprint 4 speed with a 289 Hipo (transplant) and 3 twos. It was a real bear - won many street races in that car when I was young and reckless in Philly. Wound the crap out of the hipo - 7,200 + when racing. Still like the 1964 Falcons - very nice cars. (Dave: Yes, it did have LTs - Hooker Headers as did my Fairlane hipo.)
Ford made some very rare Falcons in 1965/65. People swear Ford did not make a 289 hipo Falcon, but I personally saw one at a Car Craft National meet in 1980 and talked to the owner. Ford made 8 1964 Falcon hipos in 1964. The owner personally knew the plant manager in Canada and he ran 8 special order Falcon hipos for him and some friends. I inspected the car in detail and it was correct compared to the 1964 Fairlane "K" car hipo which I also owned. It even had a 9" rear with 3:89 gears and a top loader. The engine was not a transplant. I also have seen two 1965 Falcon hipos.
Good luck with the car - great job.

Great car! Had her to the track yet? Nothing like old drag race cars on Saturday morning!:D

I had a 64 Futura with a 260Ci and 3 on the tree. It was a fun car!
Now I have a 64 Fairlane S/C 4SP manual. I also have a 57 housing and I understand
that it's actually and 8.8 differential but will accept a 9" hogshead.
Do you recall the axle lengths? I'm installing a 3:25 to 1 hogshead and need some 31 spline
axles.
Thanks Tom

The Falcon Grill and the Torino cobra are the same.

The Intake is a edelbrock crossram, it and the valve covers came off an old drag car from the 60's.

Have not had it on the track yet. I'm having a problem with it going stright. The car is all over the place under hard acceleration. I called and spoke with Dick Brannan about the problem and he said the falcon was the hardest car he ever drove He had the same problem. This spring Mike Shanhan(Shanhan racing) is going to look at it and see what he can do. I've done everything I know to do.

Ok, I knew I had it wrote down.
Axle is 57.25 inches, 28 spline
narrowest 9" housing Made 57-59 fairlane, The Ranchero and Wagon have the bigger Diameter axle I can't say if there 28 or 31 spline This also includes the 57-59 edsel. These will bolt right under a falcon leaf spring pads are correct and brake lines will bolt up. 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. If you need anymore info let me know!
You need to get her going straight so we can line em up! I am shooting for better times this year. Time for some real slicks for it. I also have soome other goodies for the top end of the motor for a little more power. It will need a roll bar after this!;)

That's a neat car. My paternal grandmother had a white/red 4 door 64 with a 6/auto. When she died, I tried to get ahold of it, buy my uncle wanted it. He was gonna fix it up, but I knew better. Every time he borrowed some of our stuff, it came back broke if it came back at all. Flash forward many years and he decided to let me have it. I went to pick it up, and it was covered with rust through the body where he'd let it set outside under a tree for years neglected. I hated that it went to waste that way.
