Tomorrow, Monday 1 Feb 2010 I'm stepping down as an Owner and Moderator of this website. It's ~ 5 years since we assumed ownership, and it's time to move on. Since Barb's mom passed and we're both retired, there are too many activities on our calendar to do justice as a key member of the ownership team. Basically, I've become a full time trap competitor and grandma Barb's driver to Ohio for grandkid events.

Since there have been many allegations from various fronts, to include other websites, charging us owners, with about anything short of baby killing, I want to clear the air. Nine of us payed, up front, to buy the website from Logan, and since that time have donated countless hours serving the membership, and doing our best. During that time, not one of us has accepted nor taken compensation of any kind. No travel, no tickets, clothing, expenses, meals, hotel rooms...nothing.

We've made great and lasting friendships on MM.net, but I'm going to be 70 this year, and it's time to say goodbye....

Mike -
Best wishes to you in organizing what is right and what takes precedence for you. I've had the pleasure of your acquaintance at Carlisle the last couple years so in addition to thanking you for your time and support of myself and all members at that event please let me also thank you for playing a part in delivering a quality website and a key part of my total enjoyment of my car. Since 2006 not much time has passed between glances at this site and/or my car. Four years solid. So awesome.

Be well,
Jonathan

Mike,

Even though you're turning in the keys, I hope you still stop by every once and a while just to say hi.

You and Barb take care.

This is sad news for us, Mike! Eric and I have enjoyed spending time with you and Barb. You are both extraordinary people and you will be greatly missed!! Thank you for running the best Marauder (and arguably the best car) site on the Internet. I'm sure it hasn't been easy, but it's been much appreciated. I hope this isn't good bye!! Please know you have our very best wishes. We'll see you down the road. And don't forget....I'm still your favorite! :D

Hi Ho Mike;

It's has been a long and happy experience with you and the other owners of this site.

The grandkids, travel and other priorities now shape what we do in this stage of our life.
(ask me how I know)

While I hope you still Marauder with us at future events, we will remember the good times we had in this unique experience.

Happy highways and byways to you and Barb, drive slower and snack more often.

Highest Regards,

Pat and Patricia

We havent met but just wanted to say youve done on outstanding job on the website and I know I speak for many in thanking you for your time and efforts. As for the tough decisions youve made along the way, you should know it is very likely there is a "silent majority" here that has appreciated your leadership. Dont make a stranger of yourself.

Thank you for trying to keep the herd rounded up and to keep the website a fun place to be. I know it hasn't been easy and as you say it was not for the money. Most people would not have done it. Now I wish you and family the best in the next phase of your life.

Sorry to hear that you are stepping down, Mike but understand that your priorities have shifted over the years. I too am very appreciative of your efforts to keep the site up and running and to maintain some sense of order when things got out of hand. It is a difficult job and one that few can handle with such calm demeanor as yours.

Hope to see you around at some of the CAM meets and up at Carlisle.

Thanks for all you do for the MM.Net. :2thumbs:

Well Mike, I know you have lots of things you want to do, you have been a invaluable, assert, and a close friend as well, as one of the owners of this site. If it were not for you and the others guidance, this site would not have survived, or risen as one one of the BEST Marauder sites in the United States, it is the most informative site of its kind out there, and as long as Mary Bob Dan and Mike and Big Dog are around this site will continue to thrive and grow, yes some of the older camaraderie has faded as many things do with the passing of time, but all that has transpired all the events, the times we all sat around and laughed and carried on, are still just a thought away. Yes the site has changed over the last few years, but many senior members here have been around from the beginning and we see the change but that is part of life, we have a much younger crowd, today, lets not forget we all started out this way looking for guidance and sound advice on improving this wonderful car.

I like to to think if you can't say some thing nice about a members car then do not say any thing at all.

Every one has there idea of ways to improve and make there car unique, that is there right, even if we do not agree with there choices, I wish you and your family the best of luck and hope there may be a day I can take off on join you. Doing what you love to do best Hunting.

Dennis and Sheila Reinhart.

Sad to see you two moving on. I've enjoyed hanging out with you two over the years, and Kelly and I really enjoying sharing a meal with you at the last Marauderville.

Thanks for all of the work you've put into the Marauder commuinity over the years and stay in touch.

Look me up if you two roll through Louisville.

I'm a senior member and in the younger crowd. I think a few others are too.

Mike, I just wanted to say thanks for everything especially selling me that 1961 Gibson guitar. I play it every week and close to every other day. I cannot believe someone other than me doesn't like television and that someone is you, very cool in my book. There is one line you said that I'll never forget and still laugh at time to time "Guess who wasn't watching the bridge collapse?" Funny times.

Best of luck to you and thanks for everything.

Call anytime and you can hear that Gibson sing.
