Sorry, had to vent.

Lower ball joints are starting to squeak on my Magnum R/T. I think it has to do with when I got ran off the road last month and ended up hitting a snowdrift at 50mph.

So I'm figuring it's only gonna be a $200 repair. Ball joints aren't that expensive, right?

OHHHHHHHHH, NO.

Dodge, in their infinite wisdom, decided that they would not sell JUST lower ball joints for AWD cars. Instead, you have to buy a whole lower control arm at $277/pc and the repair looks like a giant asspain to complete.

No wonder the Chrysler Corp. is a sinking ship.

I still like the Magnum, I'm just temporarily pissed off at it.

It is because the control arms are most likely aluminum, and can crank when pressing the ball joints in/out.

I don't know if they are or not. I haven't started the repair yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see them made out of friggin' plastic.

Try Spicer they sell an upgraded ball joint as our Magnums at work went through the same B.S.

Try Spicer Near as I can tell, they do not sell an aftermarket LBJ, nor does Moog upon further review. RockAuto generally carries both brands and I see nothing of the sort.

If I had RWD, it'd be a different story altogether.

Thanks ADAM because of you I ran my hand over my son's right front tire and it has a pretty good cut to the tread unlike the left front which is smooth as a baby's butt......
