Ford has a real winner in the 6 cylinder as well as the GT. :banana2:

Looks like the Ford test driver was reluctant to throw the two other cars around. Would like to see an independent test of all three.

HATER! :revenge:

I like Ford products just as much as the next guy but unlike you I don't believe Bill Ford walks on water. :P

The way the MT guy was talking it sounds like the other cars were driven by other MT test drivers, where the stang was driven by ford.

The real test will be when it goes up against the Camaro V6 on a road course, it's got straight line down but I think the Camaro IRS will help it win.

I doubt the IRS in the heavier Camaro will be an advantage, ford has shown that the live axle can get the job done.

Oh I know and believe me I want the Ford to win lol but I'm just going by previous tests of the Camaro V6 and how well it can be shown to handle.

Nice, did it look to you all like the Mustang was pulling ahead quite a bit at the drag strip test at the end? It looked to have an early lead.

There are going to be a lot more kids with V6's around simple because of the power the engine puts out and the 6 speed manual. Can't wait to see what some tuners do with a single or twin turbo setup on them. I wonder how much power the engine will be able to hold.

Nobody ever raves about the handling of either the new Camaro or the Challenger. They are both very large, heavy cars. I think a stock Marauder could match or better both in the handling dept.

The Mustang has been in continuous production for a billion years, with bazillions made. It has been tweaked and improved and is much more refined than either of those other things, even with it's solid axle "crutch".

I'd buy a new Mustang if they put the new Tortis V6 SHO motor in it :drive::burn::burnout:

the new GT has 415 hp...

The point of using the Tortis V6 is it should be easy to attain nearly the same HP as the new V8 with a few hundred less pounds of weight which would mostly be over the front wheels.Throw the better brakes and suspension from the V8 in it along with the hotter V6 and it would be a car to be reckoned with.
I'm not saying drop the new V8 or the new V6 but tossing the SHO motor in as an option sure couldn't hurt.Oh,and I'd bet insurance would be a bit cheaper than the V8 car.

huh? you think the v6 with twin turbos is hundreds of pounds lighter than the new v8? I highly doubt that
Should be easy to attain? based on what? Do you know how well the v8 would respond to simple things like exhaust? Do you know how easy or hard the turbos are to tune on the ecoboost motors? Do you know how either motor holds up over time to more power?
Also a twin turbo v6 won't bring cheaper insurance by default, that's a strange assumption, it could very well draw higher insurance rates depending on what happens to a car after it launches
