Here is a small photo album of the finishing work for the intercooled 9 psi Kenne Belle install my dad, my brother, and I are doing on his original-owner 2001 Cobra. This car has almost never seen rain and has around 10,000 miles on it and is in truly showroom condition. Not, needs-to-be-plumped-up-with detailing products, condition, this thing is spotless. The under-hood condition has not been detailed, that is how clean the car stays just from never being driven in rain or parked outside.

The Kenne Bell kit has some parts that are home depot plumbing-aisle quality, that make you shake your head and wonder what the $7,000 purchase price paid for, but hey I didn't pay for it and it's supposed to conveert this 320 fwhp car to 462 rwhp with their included chip. Will be running shortly.

Hey, I just noticed you have an even longer and more annoying to type screenname than I do. If I ever change my name, next time it's gonna be Aaaaa.

For 7K you could of put a new fully forged terminator engine in it.

Thats what I did to our 01' :)

Good stuff though!

The car is so low mile, it's not mine, I just show up and bolt things on. It's not gonna see too many miles so I doubt durability is gonna be a problem. My dad does not work on cars, ever, he is a businessman who is usually way to busy for stuff like this, but this is his midlife crisis project and he was determined to do it. I give him a lot of credit because he did a huge amount of the work himself.

That sounds familiar. I do all the wrenching on my dads 05 Roush. When he first got it new I told him to wait for a whipple or KB to come out. Instead he ordered the Vortech kit since it came out first. Would I have gone that route on that big car? hell no. But he's happy with it. :banana2:

Thats also why we stuffed an 03 drivetrain in our 01'. The 03 I bought wasn't nearly as nice as our 01'. And for $7500 I couldn't pass it up.

The only difference between the 01 short block and the 03 short block is the 03 is iron vs the 01 is aluminum and the 03 has 8.5 compression vs the 9.8 on the 01 ,also if this car is a early build 01 it most likely has a Teksid block...I would take the 01 any day and twice on sunday if it was an early build cobra.....
edit....I guess the rods are different

Very nice looking Cobra - good job! Man that thing is hefty and tall looking up close.

Thanks guys, Yeah this is the 2.1 kit. And the cobra does sit really high, it could use maybe a 1.5" drop up front but then you'd probably start hitting the front bumper cover on driveways and that would be a no no. The Mustang doesn't look that hefty when you consider a Marauder is many feet longer LOL

LOL I just got word that my dad started the car last night, but had forgotten to plug the wire from the intercooler pump into the harness, so the serpentine belt caught the wires and ripped them right out of the {Johnson controls} pump, so now he needs to get a new pump. I had to laugh because that sounds like something I would do.

So it's aaalmost driving. hahaha

Reportedly the new intercooler pump is in and the car drives great. I am about 350 miles away from it though so no video... maybe at some point.
