I have the Ford Escape Audiophile 6l8t-18c815-FD unit and want both OEM Sirius and an a direct Ipod capability. I know this unit is OEM satellite ready and I have heard the Aux/S Pie adapter will also work for an Ipod. My question is can both be used together somehow or do I have to choose one or the other? The Aux/S I am told runs through the sat button on the head unit as well so I wasn't sure. Thanks.

Can't have both. The Pod takes its feed from the SAT button instead of the 6 Disk like the OEM. Plus I thought the SAT feature wouln't work because of different wiring and no inteanna in the car like the Escape has.

Hey thanks. Yeah, was looking into the satellite for this head unit and was told the "Visteon" not Delphi kit would work but not sure if the info. is accurate. They want $300 plus shipping. I do have a S50 unit I may just use instead based on your response. Picked up the Pro.fit specific mount some time ago as well. Just thought the factory kit would be a super sweet, clean look option. I don't want to loose Ipod capability however. My whole library is on it and don't use CD's anymore as a result. I know these systems can be tricky from application to application which is why I thought I'd better throw a thread up to be sure.

I wonder if somone can help an olde man and summarize in detail all of the many pieces of information on the Escape Audiophile radio concerning the use of SAT and ipods including specific parts needed and web sites to purchase. What exactly is the SAT button on the radio suppose to do, etc.

Thanks to anyone who is more knowledge with audio equipment and these radios then myself.

I will again state that these Escape radios are a tremendous upgrade from the OEM radio and ALL the wheel buttons work. The increased audio, bass, and volume is amazing. Hopefully the prices on these units has begun to drop to more reasonable levels.
