Looks really good but don't think we will get the focus RS or some other form. Working for FORD and I know a few engineers I've heard no buzz about this, but I hope I'm wrong

To sell more cars than anybody else.

What's the point?? Look up the current European RS Focus, it's an awesome car! Whipped up on WRX STi and Lancer Evo X. It's a great car.

I would rock it, drove one of the RS's when I was in Switzerland and it was a fun, fast, little car. Great for mountain carving.

Not sure if I would want it for American roads as I hardly even feel safe with most of the idiots out there.

Hell yeah, my cousin in Greece has a 2003 RS Focus and that car is great!! It handles like it's on rails, he took me for a blast through some mountain hair pin turns.... scared the sh%t out of me.

Yet another great car we never officially got here in the US. Always wanted one and I know a few ended up over here on unofficial terms

The handling was what makes the car, just point it and it went. My Swiss friend Jakob though I was going to take us over a cliff, because I got a little wild on some small mountain roads. Easy to get comfortable with and very easy to fling around with reckless abandon without being too reckless (did that make sense?).

Only comparable small car I had drove prior to that was my dads 2 Merkur XR4TIs. What a blast both of them were until he let them both go to hell and ended up scrapping them. :mad2: Told him I would of happily taken them off his hands and given him the auto back once it was cleaned up.

++10 on this point. 305 hp/325 ft-lbs of torque and a much reduced weight compared to the MM. 60 mph in less than 6 seconds, (can't find actual 1/4 mile times), w/164 mph limiter. Doesn't sound slow to me.....

One of these will destroy stock to lightly modified MMs. Plus it will out handle many cars on the road because it has nearly zero body roll, and great steering response.

I took the 02 I drove through corners like a maniac and it barely rolled or swayed at all. Like driving with stick em on the wheels to the point I thought it was AWD at first. The new one has even more power than the mark 1 and mark 2 versions of the RS so I am not sure how it can be considered slow because with about 50 less HP the older versions were still quick. Plus in Europe these are huge tuner cars and get the crap tweaked out of them. People in the UK are as nuts about these small cars as most Americans are for our V8s and there is a huge aftermarket following making performance possibilities endless.

I think one of these would be great fun, ideal car for someone who wants to have fun while on a practical budget.

Ford is hinting the 4 cyl ecoboost that is being developed for the next gen Explorer might make it into it.

BTW, The european Focus and the North American Focus have been COMPLETELY different cars up to now. The Focus we have here doesn't compare at all. That is about to change. Plus, there will be a Mercury badged version, shich EVERYBODY should be interested about, because sales keep the brand ALIVE. Once they quit making the Grand Marquis, there will only be the Milan, Mountaineer, and that other SUV, M-something, whose name I forgot suddenly.
