SOUTHFIELD, Mich. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that its Twin Vortices Series™ (TVS™) supercharger has been selected to power Audi’s 3.0 liter TFSI V6 engine available in the automaker’s new 2010 S4 and S4 Avant midsize class vehicles.
Eaton’s TVS supercharger compliments Audi’s redesigned 3.0 liter TFSI V6 engine, the newest member of the Audi V-engine family, with a quicker throttle response, delivering 333 horsepower, in addition to achieving an average fuel economy of 24 miles per gallon.
“Extensive tests of the V6 conducted by Audi engineers reveal the TVS supercharger provides optimal vehicle performance,” said Joao Faria, president of Eaton’s Powertrain and Specialty Controls Business. “When combined with direct injection, the TVS surpasses twin turbochargers in packaging, starting performance and responsiveness.”
The Eaton TVS is an all-new Roots-type positive displacement supercharger that features twin four-lobe rotors that are twisted 160-degrees. The intermeshing, high-speed rotor design pumps air directly into the engines intake system that when mixed with fuel creates more power. By comparison, the original Eaton supercharger features three lobes twisted 60 degrees. The fourth lobe and added twist, when combined with redesigned air inlet and outlet ports, creates a smooth, highly efficient flow of air into the engine and has improved noise and vibration characteristics.
Does the new style trilogy use this better design?

I posted this question to Jerry awhile back after the Lysholm unit was discontinued and at that time I was told that it was too cost prohibitive to offer. Its too bad because this blower has a great amount of potential. Reviewing the characteristics on Eatons website, it looks like they did their homework on this blower.
Huge debate over the TVS design on the Mustang forums.
It makes power, looks awesome... but its not a convential Twin-Screw design so no one has fully 'accepted' it.

Always liked the A6 4.2L . Good to see there is a little help for the 3.0L. Eaton TVS. All I can say at this time is hummm we will see.
Yep, that's a fact.....
You have a Lysholm Twin Screw, not an Eaton TVS.

Nope, not at all, you made reference to the Trilogy Lysholm & Zack made reference to the TVS both looking good and making endless power, just like the Lysholm(my words, no one else's), hence my post.
Clearly, I should have been moe clear......

Actually I too should of been more clear. After seeing the potential of the TVS, I thought it (TVS) would of been a possibly less expensive option after the Lysholm was deemed cost prohibitive and would no longer be offered in kit form. When I asked Jerry if this (TVS) would possibly be an option I was told a that time the TVS was more expensive than the Lysholm unit. That is too bad because I am ready to pull the trigger on a system. It woulld really be frustrating to get a system and install it only to find a "better" option becomes available.I guess Ill just have to wait and see what happens.

Now that's a plan
Whipple 2.3's are 3209 shipped from Tousley Ford FYI.
Basically you could do a Complete TS swap WITH the Whipple for under 6 grand.

Quick question for those that know......Does the Whipple use an integrated bypass or does something have to be fabricated. Also will the elbow and rear casting from the Eaton M112 work with the Whiple. Its tempting to call Tousley (they are less than an Hr away from me...Thanks Zack). Also is the discharge plate a production piece or is it fabricated and the modified for the IAT sensor. Thanks for your time all.

i think you may be confused. the whipple will not work with the trilogy kit, it will only work if you do something like i have done.
The Whipple comes complete with its own inlet and discharge plate.
Just add Cobra lower/intercooler

Thanks for the input.I'd like to keep the t/b,battery,airbox,etc in its stock location. This thing is just a daily driver, just looking to get the best bang for the buck. The internals are stock for now,I was just thinking it is tempting to have a blower with lower discharge temps at higher boost levels. Maybe its time to start buying parts and build this thing myself. Thanks again for the help.

you wont get much cheaper then an eaton swap and you can make more then enough power for the stock engine. i have about 3k in mine.
