His dragster didn't go out of control until after the tire came off...somebody is going to be in trouble.
I'm sorry to see anyone get hurt.

bad part is now there will prolly be like big walls and stuff put up. Drag racing has always been dangerous, for the drivers and the watchers. People that dont believe that shouldnt go to the track.
How about these people? This is how it should still be IMO:

This is a horrible event! It could also change drag racing in ways we can not imagine. More track saftey rules for spectators and racers. The sport will suffer after this. My prayers for her family!
No. Golf pants should not be worn to the drag strip ever again.

Yes, that's the part that sux. Like the 1000 ft racing instead of 1/4 mile. It's a dangerous sport, maybe all spectators should have to sign a release similar to the one competitors sign.

They do. When they drive past the sign that says spectate at your own risk and when they buy the entry ticket that says the same thing.

Remember when that big truck tire off the monster truck went into the spectators I think the first 20 rows are now shut off at arenas....now they will give people binoculars so they can watch the drags from the pits...

So sad. Now NHRA will probably put up a 1/4 mile worth of netting and fencing.:puke: Dont tickets say the spectator accepts all the hazards during events from baseball to NASCAR etc..... Still very sad. I prefer to sit at the starting line area up towards the top of the stands during all the NHRA events I have been to just to limit anything possibly hitting me.

Was at Ennis a few years back for the Fall Nationals when the Checkers Schucks (whatever its name is) funny car blower belt popped and sent that blow out panel flying through the air and landed exactly in front of my legs. As Agent Smart would say "Missed it... by that much!" I still love the NHRA, its the only sport where you can wander through the pits and get a sinus full of nitromethane (and know there is a degree of risk just standing there) when they test an engine.
