I think $17,500 is a more reasonable price. Cant be registered, marginal collectable, no roof, no side glass ect....

I would never spend that much money on that car. Hey, I'm a fan, but you could build two factory five Cobras for that.

The term "convertible" is a misnomer - it's technically a roadster since it has no top or side glass.

$75k for a sunny day ride? Plus there is the registration issue. Way cool, nevertheless.

Was this built by Ford? Usually this stuff gets put in the factory museum or destroyed.

I bet a Grand Prix GTP would smoke this thing. If you cant regisiter it and cant drive it on the street, what would you do with it? Not even the bragging rights are worth the money.

All I can say is they only made one! Look at what concept cars have been selling for at the auctions. Once the economy comes back around and someone sells it for a lot more the talk will be differant. The price is not bad its just the market holding it back right now. As far as the drive goes you need to remember this was a prototype car.

Remember this was a stock 4.6 2V engine not a 4V. The price is high for the car. I think $50,000 is more reasonable. But, there is really limited demand for a car like this.

Cool car, would love to have it if I had the money, and a garage to turn into a mini-museum/shrine. But perhaps the price is a bit on the too high side.

And yes, it was built by Ford, and was slated for destruction, but they decided to get some money back for it and auctioned it for charity.

And with the no registration clause, no reinforcement, no glass, no top, no drivetrain past the trans, its got to wait for one of us here who love the Marauder to buy it, or sell it to some guy in the U.A.E.

I would have thought after spending so much money on it Ford would have wanted to keep it.

No drive train past the trans? Well, there are rear tires on it, so it must have a rear axle.... what else is there, a drive shaft? Not too hard to find one of those if it happens to be missing.

Steve Babcock told about this car at WWDC 2 years ago, and said it was drivable at slow speeds like 15 mph or less, like for parades, going any faster was deemed unsafe due to the lack of torsional stiffness without a roof on the car.
