Gotta say that the more I see of this car, the more I like it.
If Ford builds this, this will be my next car.
Several shots follow.....

Looks better in person. I saw it at this years North American Autoshow. It is about the same size as a Lincoln LS. Real nice car. This is pretty much the same front end that will be on the Futura when it comes out. It is Ford's new look.

Too show car-ey for me. The buckets look too thin and I had those red buttons, whatever they are.

Looks to much like a Caddy I like the 49 Ford Concept Car. I wish they make this one!

Is this rig going to production or what and when can we expect it?

Alright!! Ford has their own snowplow Caddy design now. :shake: Maybe with a different frontend it would be better. The front screams Caddy's Art & Science theme. Cadillac is about all I can stand of this design, Ford doesn't need to follow.

I'm suprised so many people panned the CTS and then embrace this thing. It's a CTS rip-off, design-wise.
Thank Goodness(tm) I already gots me my car! :)

Some people hate the looks. I think in certain colors it's okay, but no way as fine a looker as our MM's. However, the CTS V is an impressive car, if you have the price of admission ($48K)
Four-door, rear-wheel drive
5.7-liter overhead valve LS6 V8 with 400 horsepower and 395
lbs.-ft torque
0-60 in 4.6 seconds
Tremec T56 Manual Six-Speed Transmission
Goodyear Eagle F1 245/45 run-flat tires and 18 by 8.5-inch wheels
Large four-piston Brembo brakes with vented rotors
Performance-tuned shocks, springs and stabilizer bars
Near 50/50 weight distribution
Dual chrome oval exhaust tips
Stabilitrak with four driver-selected modes of operation, including a mode for better track performance
Stainless steel mesh grilles, both below and above the bumper provide a unique front appearance and permits free air-flow into the engine compartment
All-new aero rocker design that flows into a new, specific rear fascia
Tower-to-tower cross car brace has been installed for improved steering response and linearity under high-performance conditions
To help reduce under-hood noise, a unique nylon cover, which features the Cadillac wreath and crest and V-Series logo, is fitted over the top of the engine
Driver and passenger seats include adjustable lumbar and suede insert material to help maintain driver position in lateral maneuvers
Center armrest has been lowered significantly for easier shifting
All-new instrument cluster featuring performance-oriented displays

I like it, especially the in-dash DVD navigation system. The Cadillac system allows you to play DVD movies on this system if the car is not moving. I'n not sure if there is a back seat system.

To all,
Before you get too enthusiastic about the CTS-V, you should read up on all that Caddy enginners had to do to the car itself just to stiffen up the chassis! That's scarry! No thanks. I'd prefer my "Body on Frame" cars any day to unit-crap constuction.
That's why I bought a C5 Vette and then bought a MM. They both have REALframes with hydroformed rails. Can't beet these cars with a stick and you don't have to beef them up when you ADD MORE POWER. Just my 2 Cents!!
Pls tell us more about the Ford 427 -- is it yet another derivative of the famous DEW platform or is it a new chassis all together?

I am a big fan of the 427. If they come out with that that will be my next car. I also really like the Forty-nine. I'll take them both in black. Thanks.

I like the idea of a big block V-8 (which this is not) it doesn't look like a Ford.

GordonB - I concur there is nothing like a full perimeter frame.:D

The 427 design is nothing like the Cadillac "Arts and Science" designs. You must be blind.

I dunno, RC... I found myself mistaking the caddy's front end for the 427 and vice versa, once or twice this afternoon. I think there's definitely too much similarity.
My personal vote would go towards extending the trunk area a bit and flattening or widening the car somewhat. Then I think it would be just right, in my opinion of course....

Well for starters it toooooo small for the Big Dog!!
Oh well back to drawing boards.

Yes, the 427 is small, about the size of a Lincoln LS.
It was a styling exercise, and parts of it will appear on future Ford vehicles, but i doubt the whole 427 will ever be built.
Long hood, short trunk deck is classic styling.
As for looking like a CTS, most people criticise the 427 for looking like an Audi

Ford might have something if they color-keyed the grille to match the car.
With a chrome grille, reminds me of an M 45.

I don't see it with the Audi A8. I'm comparing the flat nose, vertical head lights, and sharp edges of the front. Those are the things that reminds me of the Art and Science design.

The Audi A8 is ONE, SWEET ride!!!
If I wanted to spend $80K...I'd have that.
As for the 427...I'm afraid it will be too small and I agree about the front-end looking a little..."Cadillacish".

Take a closer look, while they are different there is much more Audi shape in the 427 than CTS
Then front end of the CTS is completely different, the only slight similarity is the headlight shape, and horizontal grill bars. The Cadillac front end is not "flat" and has significant rise at each fender, giving it a goof "grin" look
The horizontal bars of the 427 grille (which I do not like) are obviously taken from the grille bars of the 46-48 Fords.
