Hey Guys. My girlfriend has never stayed in a hotel so I want to make her first time special with a nice hotel! She likes casinos (as do I) and we were trying to figure out a nice overnight place to visit and I was thinking Boston or Providence or Hampton Beach (NH)... We had stopped talking about it and said we would wait for the nice weather to decide. One day we were hanging out and Atlantic City was mentioned and I said, how about we go there and spend the night? She LOVED the idea, so now I need advice on nice hotels and sites! I appreciate any advice I can get for neither one of us have ever been there and I need all the help I can get!!! We will probably be going in May...
Thanks everyone!

I use to go there all the time as a kind and im only about 1 1/2 hrs. away from their now. My suggestion would be to stay at the Borgata. Its off the strip by 15-20 mins. but the vibe and style of the place I think is better. I guess it depends on how deep your wallet is.

Its been a few months since I been there and to be honest, with the exception of the casinos, its nothing spectacular. One block away from the boardwalk is the ghetto. I have yet to go to the borgata, but I have heard its pretty nice in there.

Her and I were just at Mohegan Sun for Valentine's Day... We have both been to both those, so we kind of want to try something new... we might end up at either of those two places in the end, but who knows! haha... Am definitely interested in Atlantic City... Never been and we both feel we need to experience it at least once!

I personally think Atlantic city is crap. I been there twice and vow to never return. If you are dead set on going then do either the Borgata or the Tropicana. They renovated the trop somewhat recently and it was a nice place when I stayed there last year.
I would suggest Mohegan sun or Foxwoods as well. I been there probably a 100 times already and enjoy myself each time. Plus the rooms are very nice.

AC is VERY disappointing. Like others have said, it's nothing special. I have to attend a 3 day conference there in April and I'm not excited. Go to Lake Tahoe.

AC is a craphole and that's being conservative. Why not bring your sweetie to the NH meet in May. We're staying at the Hampton Inn hotel and she can hang out with other MM owners and have a great time with us while we all assimilate her into the MM world that you enjoy so much. Win win:banana::banana:

Do you both have passports ?
the reason I ask is for less than the 6 hour ride down to Atlantic City, which as mentioned, is a shithole (except for the Borgata), you can be up in Montreal for a nice weekend, and they have a casino as well..

We will see what happens... From what I am hearing I think the Atlantic City idea got flushed down the crapper. I am thinking maybe try to get her to go to the marauder meet in NH and we will also do an overnight at Forxwoods or Mohegan Sun... Anyone stay in both hotels? Which is better room wise?
