I recall a morning back '78 when little justbob was only five years old, I woke up, started getting ready for kindergarten, went out to the kitchen for my morning bowl of Frosted Flakes. My dad, packing up my Scooby Dooby Doo METAL lunchbox said, "Something came in the mail for you today", I look over on the table and there it was..... My very own KISS ARMY package!!!! I was SO stoked!!

Back then there was no internet, no easy way around things like it is today, you had to actually purchase an album to get info on where to send a check to! By then my collection had grown from Alive to Love Gun, and also spent with my very own allowance money, Gene and Ace's solo albums (too bad they SUCKED). I had been begging and pleading with my Mom and Dad for what seemed like years to sign me up. Now the time had come! It was a HUGE deal back then to be inducted.

I don't really remember the contents, but it was ALOT of cool stuff! Belt buckles, iron on patchs, ETC. My mom still has my ALIVE shirt from back then in safe keeping, I'll see if I can find my halloween pic from that time period, Gene ofcourse. The neighborhood looked like 200 KISS bands walking around! Ahh the memories!

Alright let's clear a few things up again.

We know Rap when we hear it, Blues when we hear it, Country when we hear it, but what about Rock N' Roll? Not a lot understand this. I can make it simple. Rock N' Roll is a type of music that was at it's peak in the late 1950s. It was the first real music that got the attention of the youth like it did.

What do we call that type of music? Pop music. What's it passed off as quite frequently? Rock N' Roll. All of the artists listed are/were Pop band/Pop Rock bands, NOT Rock N' Roll.

As far as The Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame, cool place, but it needs a new name. I would call it the Music Icon Hall of Fame. If it was all about Rock N' Roll the cut off year would be 1963, it wouldn't keep going like it does today.

I agree, but I don't think there were any Rock N' Roll bands, just Rock N' Roll artists. Ya know Little Richard, Chuck Berry and all of those guys. They had bands, but it wasn't like they were called The Rebels or anything... unless Duane Eddie and The Rebels.
