Thinking of buying one of these Scangauge II's, anyone ever used one? Seems like a mighty useful little device

I have one in the MM and love it, I leave my readings on RPM, MPH, MPG and Water Temp. You can also add in things like crank HP output, fuel level in % amount and some other stuff. Plus it's good for reading and clearing codes and if you don't mount it in the car it will work with any OBD-II (1996 and up) vehicle you have.

The scanguage is very cool, what was the other guage that had the MM godshead on the display, that fit where the autometers are now? It was pretty cool too!

The AeroForce Interceptor: http://www.aeroforcetech.com/
I have it in place of the voltmeter and usually have it on Trans Temp and Voltage.

love mine, it goes retarded some times but other wise i love it. really saved me when my alt took a dump, you can actually get a water temp instead of "normal" and read the exact voltage. i usually have these 4 up
IAT
water temp
volts
tps

Mine is mounted above the mirror using a blendmount bracket. Normally set for MPG, IAT, Water Temp, ??? something else I can't recall at the moment.

I would of mounted mine where MarauderJack and Zack did theirs but it's come in handle when I've tripped a CEL on a customers car and cleared it. lol I keep mine right at the base of the steering column so I have everything directly in front of me.
Black Out, you can usually find them for $150-160 with free shipping on eBay, that's where I got mine.

Just bought a second one, but haven't figured out where i'm going to mount it. The first one is dash mounted like Zack and MarauderJack's. Probably just attach it atop the steering column.

Yup, that's what nav's for. Put mine in the same place. Zack's is there too. Mine is currently monitoring water temp, intake temp, fuel pressure and ignition timing.

I'm very happy with mine, I use it view MPG, Fuel Pressure, Trans temp and IAT.
(There are instructions on how to program the vehicle specific guages on their web page)
The HP reading is not very useful, it's not accurate. (you need a G-Tech for that)

I started to do that with mine, but the compass circuit board has the map light switches integrated so I decided to go with the blendmount instead of hacking up the circuit board.

Yeah, yours looks like a short one.
I had the green LED mod done to my switches a long time ago and didn't want to lose that or have to re-do it.

I have mine stuck (dab of black RTV) to the dash on the drivers side edge right near the registration - inspection stickers. Easy to reach, easy to glance down at, easy to install and change function. I can't imagine having it up high, it looks great up there but looses convenience.

Send me your console & ScangaugeII and I'll mount it in the console for you. I'll even supply the extra cable & connector so you can hook up the ScangaugeII.

What color scheme did everyone settle on. I went with silver background with blk letters to try and match the matrix trin and dash gauges.
I now have two of them connected and while trying two get both to match, found the new one is a different revision than the first 3.14 vs 3.17. New one is a little brighter.

Under home-more-dispay you get to choose your diplay color.

Yeah it has preset color or you can make your own shades, a lot of different colors to choose from.
I have mine on a medium red, the green was just too bright for me and at night I dim my interior lights anyways to half way.

I wish you could invert it so it matches the rest of the instruments. Green backlit with dark letters is close, but green letters with dark backlit would be a perfect match.
